It Has Been Awhile Since I Checked In...

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

A lot has been going on in the last few months. My mom came to stay with us beginning the first week of March, which means a lot of time was spent cleaning and preparing for her visit.
We still had school work to do, as well as my youngest's work schedule to contend with.
Then the pandemic hit. Not a lot in the way of our daily schedules changed, but...
I just cannot understand- wrap my head around- how selfish and self-centered people can be in times like this. The hoarding of basic necessities- and even those things that are not so necessary- has been appalling to watch.
I've also witnessed my neighbors come together to share things when they were able to find extras- just for the asking.

I kinda put this 'diet thing' aside for a bit. My youngest and I began working on a garden. It went from a small area to a Mine and Hers Garden in the process. She loves tomatoes, so that is just about all she has in hers.
I am trying to grow zucchini, pickling cucumbers, slicing cucumbers, peas, green beans, bell peppers, buttercrunch lettuce, and some cherry tomatoes- one watermelon and one cantaloupe MAY have survived, but I am not holding my breath. I try to go out to tend the garden daily, as my body permits.
I also got a Cirkul water bottle and flavor cartridges to try. Today is my first day. I cannot remember the last time I drank so much water willingly! The bottle holds 22 oz. I am now working on my 4th bottle today- and no Cherry Pepsi. I may have to drink a little Pepsi, though- to avoid the caffeine withdrawal headache I can feel coming on, but I am loving my Cirkul!
It is definitely time to hop back on the wagon and concentrate more on myself.
