Just like many of you, I have seen many civil unrests in my life. I'm always saddened but hopeful that some good will come of it. We've made a lot of progress but there is still work to be done. There's a lot of negativity and there is a lot of hope and goodness.

I've seen many photos and videos like this that reaffirm my faith in those around me.

If you're feeling low as I am, I highly recommend the blog by spark member @watermellen. This really spoke to me as I was wishing for an average day.

I got out for a run this morning. As I headed for home, the dark clouds rolled in and it made me think about Mary Poppins. I loved that movie as a child and then my daughter loved it when she was little. We watched it hundreds of time.

I watched Saving Mr Banks over the weekend again. I highly recommend it! So as I headed for home during my run this morning and saw those dark clouds rolling in, I heard Bert singing in my head.

"winds in the east, there's mist coming in, like something is brewing and bout to begin, can't put me finger on what lies in store, I feel what's to happen, all happened before."

After I cleaned up and logged into work, I heard the song For Good in my head, from the Broadway production of Oz. Songs pop in my head all day every day.

I took my daughter to see Wicked years ago and fell in love with this song. Even on a good day, I can't sing along to this song without tearing up, yet smiling. There are positive people in my life that have taught me important lessons.

"I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return"
