Working at the village today. I had this half-done on Sunday night, the somewhat disastrous invitation to Dearly Beloved to go along to the village.
Finished it in 15 minutes. Then came threading, with lots of breaks as I was hanging over the back of the loom. The plan, that worked well for the most part, was to thread three groups of 12 threads and then take a break by spinning on one of the wheels (total of 120 threads). I had two unplanned breaks when the Managing Director came out for a photo and another when the Board President had questions.
But threading moved quite quickly. From the start of threading to this point took only 1 hour and 15 minutes.
I had to stop because I had run out of warp sticks. Those are the white things you see between the layers of yarns and sticking out on both sides. They are plastic blinds. They work well and I can find them at garage sales very inexpensively! I have more from home to take with me on Friday.
Each of the five treadle wheels got a little more yardage on the bobbin but I did not make time to practice on the moving spindle wheel. When I get to the point of just sitting and looking at things I know it is time to go home.
