A Fun Day

Friday, June 19, 2020

We went with my daughter's family to Yellowstone and ended up walking nearly two hours. I was embarrassed as the steeper hills had me out of breath and needing to stop for a break. I decided to tell myself, "You will improve as you get stronger." A non-scale win with positive thinking, right?

We were gone from 7:00 AM until after 6:00 PM. My husband and I went out to dinner at a restaurant and I ordered a French Dip sandwich with steak fries. I ate the whole sandwich and about 5 of the fries and then I was satisfied, so I left the rest of the steak fries alone. Another non-scale victory for me. My calories were at the higher end of my range...but I decided that going out once in a while and eating what I wanted was fine---as long as I get right back on track. I will do this tomorrow. After all, I'm in this for the long haul (forever) and must learn to live in a balanced way.

It is pretty spectacular, isn't it? I live an hour and a half from it. I hope to go back and not get out of breath this time when walking those steep hills. emoticon
