River and Wetlands Hikes

Yesterday I hiked along the river trail from Sawyer Park. I have not hiked there recently; and it is a lovely hike. My favorite section was the short Fishermens trail. This park is very near to my home, and I enjoyed it. It is big enough to not be crowded, except for maybe on the bridge over the river. And the parks department is not permitting people to stop on the bridge.
Forget-me-nots along the river bank
Today, my friend Hanne invited me for a hike out at the Crooked River wetlands. The water level was quite low; but it was still a lovely hike. We saw lots of birds, including many migratory visitors, and ducks with their little ducklings lined up behind them.
Yesterday, our governor imposed new rules that require everyone to wear masks indoors in public spaces. I waited to go shopping until the new rule was in effect. At least in the locations where I was shopping, everybody was complying. The number of cases are rising quite a bit here; mostly among younger people. The state wide Association of grocery stores also requested everyone to wear masks, right before the governor issued her new rules.
I was very excited to purchase new clothing in a smaller size. The dressing rooms were closed due to COVID-19, but I was lucky and everything I purchased fit me and was flattering. If not, I would have returned the items. I think they are sequestering returned items for 72 hours.
