Day 102 - Wild, wet, and windy
Friday, July 03, 2020
That's about the only suitable way of describing the weather today. Hmm, well, I guess I could have said 'Wimbledon Weather' but why that should be inflicted on us when Wimbledon was cancelled is beyond me. Besides, this is Wales not England. And for that matter, Wimbledon Weather has improved dramatically ever since the roofs were put in place. Overall, I think I'll stick with wild, wet, and windy.
I digress. The thing is, it has most definitely not been an outdoors type of day - not even for an inspection of the garden. The wind is howling and the rain is lashing down. Still, it was a good day to take out a portion of homemade soup from the freezer for lunch. Spicy bean soup. Yum. Dinner also came out of the freezer - another of my home made ready meals. Pasta with a ratatouille style sauce, served with salad. At least I had the lovely flowers daughter bought me to enjoy. They're really opening out now. I love lilies.
Rather annoyingly none of the gel insole products I ordered have arrived as yet. I'm itching to try them out. Mind you, the weather isn't conducive to going out as I said. Unless you're a duck. In which case, if you're a duck, and you're capable of reading this, can I be your manager? Meanwhile, the Epsom salt arrived so I was able to treat my callus inflicted foot to an Epsom salt foot bath. Like I said, I'm trying every line of attack on the damn thing. The taped banana skin definitely seems to be softening the sodding thing, whether that will lead to getting rid of it permanently is another matter. It certainly doesn't seem to work in the same way as chemicals such as salctic acid. But then that's the point really isn't it? Besides, all the chemical products I've tried to date haven't really solved the problem.
The weather forecast for tomorrow is more of the same. Here's my forecast. Either the weather will be exactly the same as today [or worse] in which case at least one of the insole products will arrive, or the weather will be fine for everyone [not just ducks], in which case none of the insole products will arrive. This is of course based on the well known Universal dictate known as 'Sods Law'.
Speaking of Universe's, I hopped over to my alternative one to watch today's third round match between Murray and the ever strutting Fogninni [or is that Strutninni?]. Not sure why he's such a 'strutter', especially when you consider Andy's damaged hip at the time.
