" It does no harm to the ego to be worshiped . " Mae West

I have been married to over 30 years to a doubting Thomas . Every time I say something I get I never heard of that. Well that can't be . Really that doesn't sound right, The next day he tells me about a friend that says the same thing but his friend is so smart.

He has not been getting paid by unemployment , It says they need to verify his employment, He keeps calling hr across the country they never call back their email box is full. So i asked him to ask his boss if he could send an email of his hrs worked from march on. Guess what his boss sent the info right away.
Yesterday the governor said they were updating the unemployment website, So this morning
I saw on facebook new numbers to call . I marched in the living room with the numbers and
told Thomas aka Darren I would break his arms if he did not call these numbers and don't stop until someone answers, Sure enough because he was one of the first to call the new number someone called back and was helpful, He needs a little more info and he will call
back tomorrow, Then we got a second call from a nice man who will be checking up on the
first caller and then us, So it looks like whoever was smarter and wiser than me has this all
figured out and the payments should be coming shortly,
So the key to a happy marriage is the response time a husband gives his wife when she asks for something!!!! lol only been saying to call since may .

I know i am truly wise as I got my walk in early . Ate well and healthy, and even slept pretty good. Hope you all know how wise and smart you are . keep believing in you even when
others don't. Keep looking for Hugs, Happiness and Healthy Living

I am glad you kept pressing your husband...unemployment is a big old grizzly bear!! I was "fortunate" to be laid off early before the onslaught of cases occurred. I think they just want folks to give up emoticon

I have had that same experience from not only my husband but many others. SOemtimes I remind the person that it is what I said previously. NO one seems to care. I am glad you stood up for yourself and got him to listen. Hopefully unemployment will come to him soon. emoticon

Mom always said 'the squeaky wheel gets the attention.' It is hard to be that wheel and squeak but some times you have to bite that pride and push to get what you need-calling, talking to the boss, etc. It is so hard to do but some times you need to do it!

Good for you for pushing your husband to do what was uncomfortable for him to do! You are a good wife/friend!

    Yep..........frustrating to the max LOL

Pete's the same. Only yesterday he offered to do the vacuuming for me ( just days after his op you'll recall).

I said no because you'd be surprised how many core muscles you use.

He tutting at me and sulked.

an hour later a neighbour who is also a retired physio called round to ask how he was doing. I told her what he wanted to do.........and yep..........she backed me up.
Oh the look on his face and the "I told you so" on mine!!

    Men.............huh? emoticon

    Wise woman

My dad didn't listen to my mom for much of their marriage; now he doesn't remember that, so mom gets irritated. A key time was when they were making some financial decisions, and he didn't listen to mom (& made fun of her, & 'women', with his buddies, to her face...and eventually she was right to the tune of $20k+ but he hadn't listened).
