Health update

Got my walk done while it was only 83 degrees out. Supposed to only get to 100 today. We did end up having a good rain storm last night. It's kind of muggy out and breezy this morning. Felt good to get that walk in!

So lots of health stuff this past month. I was still having numbness/tingling in both hands and pain in my right elbow, so my doctor referred me to a neurologist for a nerve conduction study. that resulted in about 5 diagnoses and a referral to a hand surgeon for surgery. I see him on the 20th. He will only see me for one problem at a time (rip off if you ask me) so I picked my elbow because that hurts the worst. I've started wearing wrist splints and the gabapentin was doubled so my hands aren't as bad as they were, but do stay tingly most of the time and go numb occasionally.

Then I had a follow up with my cardiologist and talked to him about my swollen ankles/legs. He said I have venous reflux and he can "fix it forever". So I now have a nice pair of compression hose, have an ultrasound on both legs on the 21st, and see him early August to see what's next. I hate to admit it but the hose have made a significant difference! He said that is contributing to me being so tired at night. I do have to say I'm not as tired, my legs don't swell as much, I have a little more energy, and they don't hurt as much.

I also think I have finally quit gaining weight. Ugh. I've been able to decrease my dose of fast acting insulin some and hope to keep doing that. I just wish I could lose a few pounds. but I know it's the insulin and I've heard the gabapentin also causes weight gain. I told my husband if I get my legs and hands/arm fixed, I'll be a new person!

Plan to start a round of Whole30 this week. I really didn't eat well last week and I can feel it. Ready to feel better and not have tummy issues.

Might do some yoga today with the little one. She starts ESY tomorrow, a little nervous about that, but a good trial run for school in the fall. While she's at school my husband and I are going to run a few errands we don't want to take her out for, maybe grab a drive thru lunch. Ha. We'll be child free for almost 5 hours, first time in many months for that!

    Things are going in a good direction for you. emoticon Whole 30 program is a good way to go. I did it once with good results. I learned a lot while on the 30 day cycle. emoticon
