07/14/20 Restaurant = Olive Garden
07/14/20 = 9 people showed up to the restaurant.
WHY did I decide to attend? Didn't want to Continue to live in a bubble of fear forever.
Lovely decor type restraint, lovely service attention to detail
My daughter posted restaurant photos on HOW to drink a beverage with one's mask ON and posted it on Facebook and I followed suit at this restaurant ... which helped me feel safer :-)
= That's me, kept mask/gloves ON thru out event. NO joke!
And I kept my mask ON thru out the dinner... lifting mask ONLY to take a bite.
I do NOT mess around when it comes to protecting myself and others.
= Yes I took ALL that home. I ordered spaghetti/meatballs
Salad and bread sticks come with it and ordered ranch and spaghetti sauce on the SIDE.
3 bites I was FULL literally... packed up the rest to take Home.
it was lovely seeing friends and meeting one NEW lady at the group dinner. Sooooooooooooo nice to get OUT the house and socialize with people again.
True: I talked VERY little... I am not a big talker... but still HAPPY to be present.
Observation: Only me and the NEW lady were the ONLY ones who kept our masks ON the ENTIREEEEEE time at the restaurant even thru dinner.
Me and the NEW lady sat across from one another.
I discreetly looked around and people were just drinking wine and happily chatting and chatting and chatting with NO masks ON..... and I was glad I was on my END of the table away from the chatters with NO masks on, seriously.
One of the ladies made a joke to the people at the table and said and for those people who didnt want you to come tonight for dinner... tell them not to worry because you didn't INHALE.
and people laughed.
I remained silent under my mask and I looked at the NEW lady who attended for the first time and she silently and discreetly shook her head in what appeared to be in disbelief. I looked at her and asked: how is your coffee? She said it was very good and i said cool.
End of conversation :-)
I must admit I found myself wondering if people sometimes do not take this virus thing seriously? Then I realized that even some OLDER people think they are IMMUNE to this virus epidemic... it surprised me how naively they probably think.
One lady told me.. well I live alone and so does so and so and we are LESS likely to get it because we don't have people coming in and out of our homes.
I just listened.... I am a good listener :-)
My end of the table was interacting VERY little and I really liked it that way... like maybe 3 or 4 sentences and we were DONE lol. LESS chance of any droplets spreading.
One male attendee was checking his cell phone with his head down which was fine by me.
I really had a very nice time indeed because of the company and the fact that i was brave enough to leave the house and sipped on my water thru a straw by lifting up my mask momentarily to do so ..... same thing with the three bites of food I had.
NOTE: that was my plan all along... drink a FULL TALL glass of water and by the time the food came, just take a few bites to be gracious and pack up the rest immediately and I did. The waitress was VERY prompt with the take home containers that she gave me and I was grateful.
overall = GREAT plan and great company and great time with people, smiles.
Dinner was at 6pm
we left promptly at 7:30pm
Once I was IN my car, I put hand sanitizer ALL over my face and hands AND arms and neck... ANY part that was exposed.... then I felt better, smiles. Went directly HOME, put clothes in the washing machine and immediately took a shower and washed my hair, etc. ...
BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY I SAY
again overall, GREAT TIME... can't wait to do it again
