Three Season Flower Garden

Friday, July 17, 2020

I was just looking at my front yard and my flower beds and realized that it is time for me to start thinking about what my plans are going to be for next season. All of my blooms are gone now and all that is lift is green. I like more color in my gardens. I love daily lilies but I haven't found a brand that lasts longer that a couple weeks. Time to do some research. I love peonies but haven't had much look with those either, will probably try them again. Would love some suggestions of long bloomers.

Daisies, coneflower, rudbekia, dahlia, chrysanthemum, columbine, are all perennials that will come back every year and give you color at different times. I've forgotten where you are, so your zone will make a difference, but those are some of my favorites.

For the full sun my favorites are Zinnias. They grow well in the high desert here. Their only flaw is they are annuals. Shady perennial favorite is Columbine. They can be started from seed but rather dainty for quite a while. Happy hoeing! emoticon
