Hiked Twin Bridges
Friday, August 07, 2020
On Monday I had a minor surgical procedure to drain the Baker’s cyst behind my knee. The procedure was done under local anesthetic, and went very smoothly. However, both doctors agreed that the main problem is I need knee replacements. I want to wait and replace my knees after the pandemic is under control, but that may not be possible. Right now, I would not want to ask my sisters to travel or fly to my home, and I really need their help if I have the surgery.
Yesterday, my friend Hanne and I hiked the twin Bridges Trail. It is a very quiet trail, not crowded, and I think it is beautiful. Both Hanne and I were sore after hiking it. We remembered it as a very easy trail, but it is 4 miles which is a good distance when both of us are recovering. Hanne injured her back, and has started physical therapy and recovered much of her mobility.
Here are a few views from the hike.
We plan to hike again early next week. We selected a shorter trail.
I don’t know about you, but I have cooked at home for every meal since this pandemic began. And sometimes I get into a bit of a routine. Tonight I am trying a new recipe, so I’m very excited about dinner. It is a sheet pan supper, with roasted chicken thighs marinated in curry powder, on a bed of cauliflower, green olives, and dried apricots.
