Day 227: Up in the Air

"In life, you will realize there is a role for everyone you meet. Some will test you, some will use you, some will love you, and some will teach you. But the ones who are truly important are the ones who bring out the best in you. They are the rare and amazing people who remind you why it's worth it." (Author Unknown)
Quarantine Day #148
Hello, my lovely friends!
The cemetery is on the schedule for today. Yesterday, my mom said she wanted to go see my dad on Friday. Hopefully, we’ll go there, but it depends on how she feels in the morning. Right now it’s around midnight so we’ll see in the morning. Either way, I do need to pick up some more flowers because the ones we got are in a vase in the kitchen.
Tuesday is my grandma’s birthday. We’ve left it up to my grandpa on what he wanted to do that day. So far he wants to get together at their house and have lunch together. He doesn’t want to see her grave until the headstone is up. I think the two of us and my auntie Bernadette will go to the cemetery to see my grandma on her birthday. Last week was the anniversary of my Cousin Julie’s death. Her family including my mom’s other sister Christine all went to her grave and released balloons. There were about fifty people there and more than half of them were not wearing masks. My auntie Bernadette saw the video online and said that was the reason they can’t come and visit my grandpa. He’s 96 and we have to keep him safe. The sad thing is my other aunt doesn’t call or even ask to come over. She’s the aunt that no one gets along with.
How are you all doing with everything going on? Things are just out of control in some areas. We seem to have a jump in crime in the city. I’m so glad where we live because we’re way outside of the inner city. Behind us are just farm fields for miles and miles. Out of all the communities in Denver, we have the lowest crime rate because we are way out in the middle of nowhere. The bad thing is new housing is coming up and a new shopping center and that means more people. This is why we stay in at night and do everything we need to do during the week. It’s all about keeping my mom safe.
Even though we went to Home Depot the other day, I was shocked by how empty the garden center is. There were no plants, hardly any flowers, and anything to do with gardening was gone. We wanted to get some potting soil and weed and feed for the grass. I think we’re going order it online and have it delivered to the house. We just want to get things and have them ready for our Fall clean-up. I’m so ready for the cooler weather to get here.
Be safe! BIG HUGS AND LOVES TO YOU ALL!!!
