My Journey Thru the Pandemic So Far
Sunday, September 13, 2020
Well, it’s been 6 months since the pandemic hit the US. Since we are probably facing more months to come, I thought it would be a good thing to review how I have coped so far.
It came on quickly in March before spring arrived and plants and flowers started blooming. Most of the parks around here including our national parks had closed most of the trails to keep crowds away. What could we do for some fun? Our first outing was an in-car picnic near a local barn.
The trick is to visualize yourself at a picnic table. And no pesky ants or flies to deal with. We had a few more of those in early spring.
We recommitted ourselves to our fitness program, which has been very empowering and mood boosting. We have had outdoor picnics for 2 as the days got warmer. The county fair was a no go to avoid crowds, so we had own own virtual county fair, which was a lot of fun. I did cook real food for us to enjoy. We stayed in for my birthday and had carryout, again in order to stay safe. We started getting really bored with no sports, concerts, etc. going on, so I planned several virtual vacations to places I have been to and ones I would like to visit. My favorite was New England, where I visited lots of historic sites via their websites. I was even able to visit the New England Aquarium and see a virtual whale watch.
And we went for a getaway in a lovely cabin with a great view of the surrounding woods.
So if anyone has other ideas of things to pass the time, I would love to hear about them.
