Hike, update

Saturday, October 10, 2020

It has been quite smoky for the past few days. But today it rained, and I was able to go for a short hike. I am so grateful for clean air again. You don’t realize how important it is until your air is hazardous.

Hanne and I went on a new hike to Lucky Lake. Here are a few photos.

The trail was through a wilderness area. We were both surprised by the amount of downed timber along the trail. With the current wildfires raging, these logs along the trail looks like firewood stacked and ready to burn.

A few berry bushes were turning red.

I was inspired to go to Farewell Bend Park to look at the fall colors. A few of the maple trees were glorious.

And I enjoyed the views of the river.

I am working very hard to get back on track with my weight loss. I have regained a few pounds, and I am totally committed to losing weight. I know I can do it. I am tracking everything, staying within my point range, and with the better air quality, I will be increasing my exercise. Because of the pandemic, I have canceled my gym membership; I’m just not comfortable exercising in a closed environment with other people. (Gyms are open here, but no classes, and machines must be 6 feet apart. Masks are required) I have invested in a exercise bike, and I am very happy that it arrived today. emoticon

Wow gorgeous fall colors!! You're looking a lot thinner Alison! Just stay focused - you'll get the rest of the weight off. Just don't be like me and let 30 pounds sneak back on.
I wouldn't be comfortable at a gym either. Julian Michaels the fitness guru caught Covid19 after going to a gym.
Take care. Happy Hiking!! emoticon emoticon

the beautiful lake looks like a sheet of glass ! I am happy the fires are not as bad .My friend in California had a terrible time breathing she is a bad asthmatic when the fires were raging.
I am not doing anything but staying home & going thru things down sizing once again Things I held onto I now do not want & I went thru the house last year. This time I have a different mind set. Life is so short I do not want anyone having to go thru it if something happens to me at least it will not be so much as before. My thinking is not where it was before covid I dislike that word.
Any way time marches on You are always a breath of fresh air with your writings & photos I appreciate them Have a lovely week ( Judy )

Beautiful pictures on a wonderful hike! It is appalling at the amount of timber and brush that should have been cleaned up, but completely ignored! .. Indeed, looks like stacked firewood waiting to be burned. Dreadful that the warnings go ignored! ...Glad you did enjoy yourselves! Happy trails!

You have found another beautiful hiking area. I love the rock formations by the river. I am also glad to hear that Hanne is still hiking. What a trooper.

As always beautiful photos. I think most of us gained a bit of weight the first half of the year before we put on the brakes. Keep on hiking!
