Halloween Nights
When daylight starts to wane
and twilight is nigh
the streetlights come on
and little goblins walk by
On their way house-to-house
To call “Trick or Treat!”
then hold out their bags
for some candy to eat
Then I know Halloween
has begun on my street
and that soon I will hear
on my porch little feet
Then after a knock
I’ll open my door very wide
While the little ones show off
their costumes with pride
And I’ll hand out some candy
for each smiling one
Whether Cinderella or Batman
They’re all having fun!
Then with a smile I’ll say
they all look just great!
And wave at their parents
Waiting there by the gate
I’ll glance round the neighborhood
while up and down every street
excited kids and their parents
say “Hi!” as they meet
I’ll answer the doorbell
as it rings yet again
Pick up the candy bowl
and go to the door with a grin
Because Halloween’s fun
it just comes once a year
and the memories made
will be held very dear
So when Halloween comes
Make it fun for the kids
‘cause when we were once young
that what our own neighbors did!

The kids aren't going from house-to-house much this year, but it reminds me of fun Halloweens of the past.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
