D80-100 R2 For better health

Thursday, December 17, 2020

Absolutely no progress past 20 days but not lost progress, in the upper 340's. The problem about doing a restart in early September, November and December are historically my worst months. While Jan through May is my best.

Good news is I am finally ready! Its been record busy with hay the past four weeks because of the weather and finally coming to an end. It was the most busy active June through beginning of December in my life. The workload will be cut down to less then 1/3 the next 5 & 1/2 months so no excuses. Committed today back to 2 pm to midnight eating window as late night eating has been an issue. Early to mid day water intake has also been an issue. Now that its no food until 2 pm or later the water intake should be very good mornings and middle of day.

Food photo accountability has been working very will with my two friends. However I have logged my intake on spark people just 4 times past 2.5 weeks. Technically I could go back and fill in with my photo accountability. This will change, logging in my intake accurately each day as well as back to blogging here at least 3 times per week. I have been doing exceptionally well with my nutrition except for things like late night popcorn, rx bars, 85% dark chocolate, sometimes a pizza or stuffed chicken. Those are the bad things while the mornings and days has been exceptionally good along with the veg and fruit intake.

The right foot healing slowly because of overuse. Left foot dealing with a lot of ball of foot pain from overuse as well as some on the right foot. Have had 2 rest days past week which is 2x more than previous five weeks. Hoping the intermediate fasting, less work, less intake, exceedingly great nutrition for 100% of intake. That and along with maybe loosing 10 pounds using pads on ball of foot and shoes. By Dec 26th when I go on a 3 week hiking vacation in warmer weather hope to be over 80%. Will not be a bad thing if I adjust my hikes from 4-6 miles instead of 4 to 10 as it will allow more time for exceptional nutritional planning days while on vacation. Its taken long than I thought to get to the point where I feel totally committed but feel I truly am.

Big equation with the intermediate fasting exceptional nutrition as well as proper sleep is it will peak the immunity system at very high levels. Its my best defense if I come in contact with sickness and disease. I count my blessings every day, the total impact my transformation and how fortunate I am being able to flip flop my health from very negative to positive outlook. Think it would be truly terrifying times for me personally if I was still 550 trapped in a sugar addiction. Its not just covid-19, It's hearth disease, cancer, joint heath and the hundreds of other ways to get sick and die. Firm reminder our health is our greatest wealth and why the effort we make to better ourselves with weight management is worth every second and focus on the positives, not beat ourselves up when they do not go to plan. Always stay positively minded be thankful for what we do have and not loose focus on the long term rewards. Sending out a prayer to all who are affected during this pandemic and remember there is always a silver lining to hardships and tragedies we go through.

"...but not lost progress." That is a key phrase. As someone who knows you personally, I can attest to the incredible personal plan work you've been doing during this record-breaking career work period. I've witnessed you commit to accountability amid 18-hour workdays...I cannot honestly say I'd have the same commitment with such a brutal schedule over the last few months. I'm in awe of the progress you've made via the willingness and action you've demonstrated. You're remaining connected and aware along the way. You get the idea that it isn't what we know, it's always what we do. You're constantly learning. The work you've accomplished along this entire journey from 550 pounds is like a doctoral study-- and the subject is you. Most of us don't take that kind of time and exert that kind of effort to go deep...far beyond diet mentality and into the deep dynamics of long term sustainable recovery.
"Our health is our greatest wealth." I love that-- and it's so true. Well said, Jon.
I'm so glad you're on the brink of a slower period work-wise--giving you time and energy to further apply what you've been learning about you, your plan practice--what works well and what doesn't work well.
The hikes!!! The vacation time coming up--- oh my, you've earned every minute.
When I join you later next year, I look forward to hiking alongside you. I better get in better shape between now and then or I might not be able to keep up!
Outstanding work, Jon. I'm excited about where this leads for you.
