"Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living, and your belief will help create the fact." (William James)
Hello, my lovely friends!
Today is my grandpa’s 97th birthday, a day we’ve prayed that he would live to. We will be going over to his house to celebrate with him later today.
On Tuesday we went down to his house because the priest was going down there. For the past couple of days, he’s been staying in bed and not eating. The nurses said that he will probably not eat anymore. The priest blessed him and we all took communion. While he was praying my grandpa was saying the prayers. He was very talkative that day and it was completely different from last week when he didn’t talk at all. My grandpa has always been a man with stories from his life. He’s lived a long one and has seen many things. I’ve always enjoyed listening to him talk about how things were and what he did when he was younger. I learned that my grandparents would go to dances at the big dance hall with big band music playing.
Anytime the phone rings and we see that it's my aunt my mom gets scared that it will be that call. She called yesterday morning to tell us he got out of bed and is back to sitting in his chair. He was talking up a storm. It was almost like the visit from the priest gave him a boost. Scooter even knows something is up because he just curled up at the foot of his bed with him and stayed there the whole time we were there. I’ve told you all that my grandpa is his BFF and anytime we’re at the house he is the glue to him.
I don’t have any pictures of him by himself, but I do have some with my grandma.
Be safe and well! Lots of hugs and loves to you all!
