Visualization 1/20/2021

emoticon I kind of got off track with my visualization's. Last weekend I went to visit and help my Dad. My sister lives next door to my Dad and makes sure he has all he needs. Since she was going out of town so I had the honor of taking care of all his needs, which I love to do. However, it does put me behind on my to do list. emoticon

Let's start with a quick visualization exercise. Imagine yourself as an elderly person reflecting on what you've done with your life. Think of the path you're on now. Are you making your future self proud? What can you do today to help live a life you can be proud of?

I think I am on the path of being proud of my healthy choices with food and daily exercise today that will benefit me as I age. When I was at my Dad's I did notice that he is isolated. I tried to get him outside so he could visit with neighbors who were walking outside but he was not interested. I actually have noticed since Covid that even my social interactions have become limited and it seems I have become out of practice of reaching out to others. I think I need to work on my word of the year which is Kindness. To do this I need to make more of and effort to reach out to others no matter how small to bring some happiness into the world.

emoticon Great article! I remember taking a palliative care course about 20 years ago and one of the assignments was writing your own obit. Talk about a quick lesson on how to look at your life now and then taking steps to make it better for the future! Very glad to hear that you are able to spend time with your Dad

Awwww, priorities, and nothing like Dad! Glad you spent real quality time with him. Except for my chubbiness, I'll be proud of myself so far. Gotta keep it that way. emoticon
