Day 26: She’s Getting One
Tuesday, January 26, 2021
"Believe that you can do it under any circumstances. Because if you can, then you really will. That belief just keeps you searching for the answers, then pretty soon you get it." (Harriet Beecher Stowe)
Hello, my lovely friends!
So, the snow that was supposed to be falling yesterday is falling, but not down here. The mountains are getting some snow, but we’re just waiting and waiting. When I let Scooter out for the final time last night I saw a few flakes falling, but it’s after midnight right now and no snow. Although it feels like a freezer outside and will continue to get even colder, it’s going to start warmer up on Wednesday.
My sister and her family are incredible! They finished everything over the weekend. I sent the pictures and music list off to Cuinn by Thursday night and Cuinn put together the whole video on Saturday. He sent us the link to watch it and we sat down Sunday night and watched it. My mom really loved it and she cried here and there. I’m so happy with it. My sister is doing the eulogy because she is so good at writing and plus this is a way for her to be a part of the service. She was just going to record her voice and we were going to play it, but my nephew Kyle had different plans. He works at Boston College in the tech department and brought home lights, a camera, and other equipment to record her. She said she felt like a news reporter doing a report from home. I think she’s sending us the final tomorrow. I just can’t believe how quickly they put it all together.
We all know the 2nd strain of the virus is here and it’s spreading in Colorado and trying to get info on the vaccine is crazy. I signed both of us up for it on Kaiser and we’re just waiting and waiting. The other day on the news they suggested that you should sign up for more than one place to give yourself a better shot at getting one. So I signed us up in a few places. They had a practice run over the weekend downtown with 1,000 seniors and this coming weekend will do 10,000 on 70+ adults. Guess what? My mom has an appointment for 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, YAY! I’m so happy and they already scheduled her for her 2nd shot in February. There’s one good thing that has happened this week.
I ordered flowers for my grandpa’s service and even had Scooter’s name on the note. The funeral home sent out an email and said that we have to wear a mask and only to sit next to the people we live with. I imagine the two of us sitting by my aunt and uncle and then my other aunt and her whole family probably on the other side since they all hang around each other. It’s going to be a long day for all of us.
Be safe and well! Lots of hugs and loves to you all!!!
