Today, imagine that your biggest trigger food is sitting on the kitchen counter. Watch yourself pick it up and toss it in the trash without even considering eating it. How does it feel to be in total control over your trigger food? What small steps can you take today to put you more in control of your food cravings?

My biggest trigger food would be chocolate. I have been know to eat the baking chocolate chips when the craving becomes overwhelming. emoticon

I do not like to think that something controls me to a point where it becomes an addiction. And I think eating the baking chocolate chips my qualify as just that. It would feel wonderful to know that I could say "No"!

When the craving comes along, I need to stop and ask myself the these questions.
1. Am I really hungry?
2. Is something bothering me?
3. What can I do with the feeling other than eating?

It's either all or nothing with me & chocolate. There's no moderation once I start... 1 kiss... 2 kiss..a whole bag of Hershey kisses. Then there's weeks that'll go by & I don't open them...lol

I have been known to attack a bag of baking chocolate chips, and I have been known to take the trouble to get into my car and drive to the store and load up on junk to satisfy a junk craving. Cravings can be tough. I've never understood how some people say they have to have a piece of chocolate a day and then they are satisfied. Really, how does one do that? If I have chocolate in the house it calls out to me, and taunts me. Chocolate is mighty powerful. BUT. We ARE warriors. We SHALL overcome! emoticon

I guess I am fortunate that I live alone, so I am in complete control of the food that comes into my house. That being said, I have learned that there are certain things that I don't feel I can trust myself with right now: popcorn and nuts. I just can't have them around because I apparently can't recognize what a 'serving' is. I know that someday I'm going to tempt fate and bring some in my house, but I'm content right now. Everything else seems to be under control so I don't feel the need to push it right now. emoticon emoticon

For me, it would be pie emoticon With life being so short, I'm not sure I'd say NO to a fresh-baked piece of any fruit pie emoticon I recognize the importance of awareness and priorities indeed. emoticon emoticon
