Time for Some Changes

I went to the doctor today and it’s official that my BP is creeping up. So the dr. gave me a low dose blood pressure med to try and gave me a print out for the DASH diet. (Dietery Approaches to Stop Hypertension). It looks like a very healthy, well rounded diet. I can stick to eating lots of fruits and veggies. But I need to concentrate on not eating too many sweets, which I been depending on to help me cope with all the stress of the pandemic. I guess the secret will be for me to cut down gradually. I will also need to start reading more food labels. And I will have to avoid eating a lot of spicy food, since it’s loaded with sodium. I think I can give up chips pretty easily. My health is very important, so I can’t just ignore my doctor’s advice. Thank goodness my social life is minimal right now due to Covid, because a potluck party would be a real challenge that I’m not ready for yet.
A new year and time for a dietary tune up.
