Hi everyone,
Tomorrow will mark my second attempt at Insanity. My last attempt lasted for 3 weeks. It's hard work but I'm ready to see results. I'm going to push myself this time.

5th time - whooo hoo and just beginning - whooo hooo ! I love Insanity and what it has done for me over the past 11 months.

Hi Carla,
I followed the schedule almost perfectly if I missed my morning workout I made it up in the evening. Near the end we left for vacation so I flipped my rest day, working out seven days straight so my rest day would coincide with our driving day. Finished right on schedule! I lost five lbs and a few inches but mostly gained strength. Of course I only needed to loose 4-5 lbs, and was mainly concerned with tone and strength, so this program certainly worked for me!

Hi everyone. I'm Carla. I bought it now its time to do it. I did what I call a trial (fit test plus one workout) spaced a week apart. I have time specific wt loss goals I would like to see happen. I know I'm going to need several rounds of insanity but I have to start with the fit test again & consistency thereafter. Did everyone follow the calendar to the T?

Hi all! My name is Shannon and I'm on Day 23 of Insanity! My muscles are sore but I will see this through until the end!! Let's motivate each other! Two of my daughters are also doing it, but they are a week ahead of me. I'd love to be a part of a motivating and fun group of folks that also enjoy being tortured by Shaun T!! LOL!

Thanks for the recovery week tip, I may just do that, I do kinda miss my normal workouts(can't believe I just said that!).

Ha ha ! Love your comment about being chased by a man eating tiger ! You are right, those legs would carry you now that you're through 3 - 4 weeks ! After round 2, you'll be able to punch the tiger pretty hard too ! Since it's feeling more like work, when you go into recovery week, shake it up and do some other type of exercise too. I went back to Jillian's 30 day shred for a day or two during recovery week and it seemed soooo easy ! yeah men... they get abs faster and more defined too.. grrrrr. They're so funny when they're so proud of it ! :)

Good for you! It's important to enjoy yourself that's the whole point right? Maintaining while on vaca is a triumph, take it! You showed a lot I'd dedication and Should be proud.
I have a hard time making correct food choices when faced with unique tasty ones, why pay a fortune for the same salad I would eat at home, when I can have pineapple glazed fish tacos? So I focus on small portions. Hope you enjoyed ur pancakes, theres much worse things u could have done! So did the seafood taste better not fried? Do you think it was any fresher or same ole frozen stuff?
My workout going good, week3, is beginning to feel little like work though, think because it's all basically same exercises....and hard as heck! My guy came in while I was doing heismans and he just shook his head, later he said I was nuts, it looked like to much work, when I told him that was the warmup, his response was an a string of bad words!!!!
I hate it when they can loose by just thinking it too! But sometimes they fib! Regardless I remind myself if ever we are chased by a man eating tiger I will be totally safe!

Vaca was great ! I took the workout with me and let myself have a kind of "recovery week", did cardio abs almost every day, did pure cardio once. We did do a lot of walking/hiking and we did try to eat healthy. We went to Maine, so there was more seafood than usual - not much fried there, mostly steamed or boiled. The hardest thing was breakfast for me, on the road it really takes a lot of will power to eat bananas, grain cereal, yogurt.... I admit some pancakes did slip in...and I did have a couple beers, not too much though. Overall we maintained, I'm happy with knowing that I can make good choices in that setting MOST of the time. I am back at the regular workout this morning. My husband says he actually lost 2 pounds ! I still can't get him to do Insanity though ! How's your workout going ?

Great ! It is exciting to see improved strength and fitness ! Keep it up ! I'm going on a 10 day vacation, but I'm taking Insanity with me, with a little DVD player ! Trips are a challenge, but I am determined to beat the jiggles that are left...

I started and stopped Insanity...twice this summer. I took the Fit Test today (Day 1, woo!) and saw a marked improvement in my stats from the last few times! So excited for this!!

Songwriter8. Thanks for the encouragement. It's funny how easily their egos can be threatened. I am definitely doing this for myself, I enjoy discovering what my body can do and discovering how strong I really am mentally and physically along the way.

The only person you have to compete with is yourself ! My man had some similar reaction, but I'm not doing it for him, I'm doing it for me. Also, I do it after he's left for work, he leaves earlier than I do, so he either doesn't see the workout, which gives him less to make comments about, or only sees a little. Ha ha, when he sees the punches and the jabs, he says less. Actually, though about a month ago he complimented my work !

Thought I'd join this group for a little inspiration/support as I'm feeling a little defeated after my guy basically scoffed at me and implied I couldn't handle insanity and said that if I could do it he knew he could, cause he was more fit than me, (but he just doesn't want to do it).!I'm!sure he's stronger but doubt more fit the man gets winded on a half-mile walk (if he finds his way off the couch). Yes you detect a little anger, resentment!
I recently completed the XFactor ST, and am very proud of myself, (he didn't make it through DVD1!). Today I did my Insanity Fit Test and am pleased with myself, just a few months ago I couldn't even hold plank, let alone move my legs while holding it! I am super excited to see what my body can accomplish In a few more.

Hello! I'm Anna. I am half way through my second week of Insanity. I've completely a botched month last year.. i couldn't do it everyday because I did crazy shift work.. but even in doing it every couple days I noticed a HUGE difference. This time I'm in it for the long haul hopefully because I start my same job in 1 month! But I love the program.. clearly or else I wouldn't be here!!

Hi guys, I've been contemplating buying the Insanity workout set for a couple of weeks now. It looks really really tough, which I know it is, I just don't want to be put off if I can't get through a workout. I guess it's more about the overall progress and seeing improvements along the way though right?

30 day shred is a good way to prepare. I did that workout for a year and got stronger but didn't get the results I wanted, which brought me to Insanity. Just before starting Insanity I did circuit 1 plus circuit 2 of 30 day shred together to build my endurance. It helped. Good luck ! Sounds like you are on your way ! I'm in my second round of Insanity right now and I'm thrilled with the results! Lots of inches lost, and feeling better that I ever have ! Keep us posted !

Hello, I have not been on this site for a while. Unfortunately I have fallen well more like took a face plant off the wagon. But I plan to get back on it. I just ordered the Insanity DVD's and will start as soon as I get it. In order to get myself ready I am doing the 30 day shred. I know once I start the insanity program I am going to be looking for help

hello, I just finished my first week. I can already feel the difference in my flexibility and to be able to hold the poses. I am so proud of myself for sticking with it religiously. I need a jump start into summer with the weather getting warm! I am in this to win!

I'm just ending week 5 of Insanity....so I'm starting crazy month 2 here soon! Can't wait!

I started Insanity three weeks ago (April fools day) and I am so hooked!

I have tried many diets and exercise plans and have not been successful with any of them. Losing weight in my forties is much harder than years before...

I purchased the Insanity collection almost two years ago. The first time I tried this workout, it was much harder than I expected and I gave up on it. Recently, I decided to give it another chance. I am so glad I did. I absolutely love it. It is hard but I feel so good after I complete it. Wishing you all the best & just keep pushing play!

Hey all! Long time Sparker (yo yo Sparker, I should say, lol) but first time doing Insanity. Currently on Day 4 and for some bizarre reason, LOVING it! I have gone from being fairly sedentary in recent years to looking forward to pushing my body and sweating every day! Like some of you, because of the Spark way of counting/portioning calories, this whole 40/40/20 thing is taking some getting used to. I'm trying not to be super stringent with that, I have a busy family life and I'm a mom of 3 young sons so I have to keep things realistic. But I've overhauled my eating and I'm feeling great! (if a bit sore, hahaha) Looking forward to connecting with more of you and hopefully getting some fun/easy/cheap/tasty clean recipes that are Insanity friendly.

Started Insanity on Sunday--loving the workouts so far, but still getting used to the number of calories and carbs on the eating plan. Would love to hear how other people are finding the program, and what progress you're seeing!

Trying this weight loss thing again. This time with lots of motivation. Joining this team, made friends with two beachbody coaches on facebook, and have two friends doing it as well to keep each other pushed.Hopefully, I will finally reach my goal.

Have gone through Insanity level one and two to prepare for mud/obstacle race. Did better on race than last time but had trouble cutting calories and having enough energy for workouts. Staring up agin after a week break and also incorporating road work for a Yakathon two months. I have to have a goal event to strive to stay motivated so schedule run or something every 2-4 months.
I need accountability and advice on eating for energy but also weightless. I do have a work out buddy which is a plus. I have been doing workouts and fit test but that is really all I have been measuring or monitoring. I feel stronger but know it can be so much more.

Happy Tuesday. I'm joining this group because I have some weight to lose and I'm going to go back to try Insanity soon. I've done most of the program once before, and I'm not quite ready for Insanity yet as I had a bit of time off working out and I'm currently just trying to get into the "habit" of ensuring I'm doing some workout each day. I figure once I have a month under my belt of being consistent I will be ready to start the program as written. I'm looking forward to getting back at it, as it's a program that made me feel totally spent but fantastic when I was finished a workout.

Hi all! I am a 41 year old mother of 3 boys (8,7,5) - just finishing the fourth week of insanity and I love the work out...always been active and fit, but have put on 15 pound over the last year and a half and am having a tough time taking it off...

I've done fit test and three days. Day three I pulled something in my butt and couldn't finish the workout. I'm completely resting today. I don't do Insanity daily but have been mixing it up to include treadmill time and tae bo in with my workouts. My plan is to do workouts six days a week tho and it's mostly Insanity.

It's not easy - no, and obviously I did something the wrong way and injured myself, but it IS very do-able, and I'm going to stick to it. It's not fancy - - just a serious work out. What we all need!

Hi! I'm new to Spark People, but not to losing weight. I'm a 32 year old mother of 2 incredibly supportive kids. I have an amazing man who has been to hell and back with me over the last 12 years. I was always in shape (5' 4" and an athletic 145lbs), until I started struggling with depression/anxiety. Over the course of a few years, I ended up being 267lbs. I stayed that way for years. In February of 2010, I finally got it together and, after exactly 1 year, I had lost 87 lbs. I mainted 180lbs for over a year. I was in my last year of college, and I had to do 40 hours a week of clinical rotations and still work 40 hours a week. On top of that I had a horrible back injury that lead to round after round of steriods (injections and oral). Needless to say after that, I found myself back where I am today a frustrated 245lbs! I will not live my life like this any longer. I only have 3 years until my oldest goes to college, and I will not waste them! I would like to be able to cross some items off my bucket list before it's too late! So that's me in a nutshell! Looking forward to taking the fit test tomorrow!!
