Just figured out to get into the " class" group. I joined on May 28 and ready to be a part of our graduating class!!


The scale doesn't determine who I am. It is made of metal, nuts and bolts. It has no feelings, no compassion.

Hello everyone! I'm Tiffany and I've been a SP member for quite some time and have been on and off with my activity. On May 23rd, I started tracking my food and I haven't stopped since, so if it's ok with everyone here, I hope you don't mind if I consider this to be my 'Class' so to speak.

This time is definitely different for me - besides tracking everyday I'm also getting more involved on the site. Simply reading the blogs and success stories is so motivating! It's nice to know that although everyone has a slightly different approach, the basic formula of tracking your intake and cardio minutes is the foundation for success. It's definitely something I wish I had seen through to completion the first time I joined. I think of where I could be now and I get a little angry at myself, but then I just remind myself that if I keep on keeping on I will be there soon enough.

It's going to be a bumpy ride, but I'm definitely ready!

I too have just joined and am trying to "stick to it". The hardest part for me is cooking so that everyone will enjoy the meals. I also have 3 boys and they are into all the junk food, top ramen, etc....now that it's summer and they are home all day it's harder to monitor what they are eating while I'm at work.....

Live everyday as if it was last, it just may be!!

Hello All, Still learning my way around the sight. Haven't figured out where/how to add the bar at the bottom of a post to track my weight.( Found it!) I've seen some very creative ones and would like to add one too.

Hope to lose 75 lbs by this time next year. Slow and easy wins the race so I've heard...So glad I found the place and people to help me get there.

Hello. My name is Cassandra and I am 38 years old. I have an 19 month old daughter named Allison and she is the light of my life. I was at my heaviest in March at 262 lbs and tried WW and was successful with it. I lost 22.5 lbs in 9 weeks, but had to give it up due to financial issues. I am an emotional eater and I struggle with depression. I am entering graduate school in the fall and pursuing my Masters in Social Work.

Hello, My name is Raven and I am 30 years old. I have three children two girls and one son. I gained quite a bit of weight with my last pregnancy and had planned on losing it all by the time she turned one. Well she turns one next month and I still have 20 pds to go. I work a lot and am a fulltime doctorial student so finding the energy to workout is challenging. I just got accepted to the NWM in San Francisco in OCT doing the half Marathon, which is exciting! So my new goal is to lose 20 pds before I step onto the starting line!

Hi Everyone!
My name is Cindy and this is my 2nd attempt with Sparkpeople. Like others on this board, I actually had an account here a few years ago and deleted it to get a fresh start. I will be 44 in July, am married and have a 5 year-old little girl. I was within 20 lbs of my goal weight last January, via Weight Watchers, but then regained 20 lbs over the past few months. I am an emotional eater and in graduate school- enough said!! It has been a tough couple of quarters! I have maintained a 20 lb weight loss for 3 years, with my highest weight 195 after several years of fertility treatments. Currently I workout with a personal trainier 2X/ week and try to do cardio 3-4X wk. I ran my first 8K 3 weeks ago! But I have to get in control of my eating and I am ready to get it done! Hello, my name is Heather and this is my third time to attempt SparkPeople. The first three times, I was not seeing any headway and gave up. However, I know have medical information that gave me insight as to why I have difficulty losing weight and I hope to be more successful this time. I am also training for my first marathon (just started this past week) and will hopefully shed some weight during this process. I am a military wife that is currently stationed in Germany with my Mr. Special. We live in a rural, farming community and I have lots of beautiful places outside to walk, run, bicycle, etc.

Hi everyone!! My name is Dani. I'm a member of the fire police at Red Hill Fire Company, in the small town of Red Hill, Pennsylvania. I'm not really new to spark. I was here a couple of years ago, under a different name. I lost 50 pounds then. Unfortunately, I went through a pretty bad divorce and gave up on spark and my weight loss goals, and gained it all back. I recently decided to give marriage one more try, and got engaged to a wonderful man, who is also in the fire service. Hello I'm Conny I'm 21 years of age. I joined yesterday and I'm still trying to get a hang of the website as Tess says there are a lot of tabs and bits and pieces to figure out.

I'm 5.6ft I'm tall and I didn't realize that I was obese I've always been chubby but never obese till after an op. Now I would like to be at my healthy weight.

Hi, My name is Kelli and I'm new here too. I have been a vegetarian since I was 5 years old and play around with vegan/raw at least 1x a week. Being a vegetarian is easy for me, being a vegan is not as easy b/c I love cheese (eek). However, I do not try to "convert" people to my way of thinking, I believe to each their own. I'm 44 years old, live with my husband and our adorable dogs in Austin, TX. I look forward to making friends on here and helping each other achieve our goals.

Due to some health problems, I ended up gaining over 50+ lbs in 3 years. I am feeling much better now but ended up being 197 lbs (the most I have ever weighed). Since January 17, 2011, I have been working out with a Personal Trainer M, W, F and Pilates Trainer Tu, Th and have lost 22 lbs! I still have a LONG ways to go though. Need to lose at least 45 lbs to reach my high end weight and 55 lbs to reach my low-end weight.

I hope you will stop by my page and become my friend so we can support each other on our journey.

Hello, I'm Rachel and I'm 22 years old. I actually signed up on this site in 2009 but I didn't do anything with it, but I'm back and I'm really motivated.

I'm 5'2" and at 186 pounds, so I have some work to do. I'd like to get to a comfortable 130.

I have this summer all to myself, so far, and hope to make the best of it.

My biggest goals, while starting out, are:
1) Quit smoking!
2) Become active!
3) Start eating healthier!

The reasons I want to get healthier:
1) I get sick easy.
2) I'm always dragging and have no energy.
3) I want to feel comfortable in my own skin again.
4) Diabetes runs in my family and I don't want to go down that road so early.

I'm going to put all my effort at starting fresh and becoming who I want to be.

Hi Team!
I'm Nancy, long term weight watcher and new to spark. My personal trainer through my insurance company told me about this website and I love what I am seeing. Already feel like I have a place to go for real help and encouragement. I work two jobs, my kids are in their twenties, hubby has two jobs too. HI, I started yesterday, I am deternined to lose some weight and get healthy again, so sick of knees hurting when I walk, not being able to do things like I used to. Age has something to do with it but my weight contributes far more! My goals this week:
Do the 10 minutes a day exercise
Track my calories each day (and be HONEST about them!)
Post my goals (including where my weight will be in a few months, and photos of myself now looking FAT) on fridge and on my desk and next to my chair in lounge, the places I snack!

Hi, everyone. I officially joined yesterday, after getting on the scale Saturday morning and shocking myself. 191.6 lbs, and honestly, I'm horrified. I've never weighed this much in my life (I'm 5'5"). Yesterday (5/22) was my first anniversary, and I think I've put on 20lbs since getting married. My husband and I want to start trying to have a baby soon, and it will be so much better if I get my body healthier first. I turn 30 at the end of July, and I want to be down to 175 by then, but I've got quite a bit more than that to lose before all is said and done.

I am back after a half hearted attempt a couple of years ago...I ended up closing my old account just to get restarted!

My first 3 goals are:
No soda (or even any sugary beverages)
Exercise for at least 10 minutes daily
Post goals where I can see them.

My short term goal is 10 pounds by July 7. My long term goal is 78 pounds by next year (which will be my 15th wedding anniversary).

My family is living in Hawai'i for the next 3 years so I need to dump this weight so that I can enjoy the hiking and beaches more!

Hello everyone. Rejoining after yo-yo-ing even higher after some success here in 2008.

My goal is to be able to hike the rain and cloud forests in Puerto Rico one month from today. I will be there for work and want to take advantage of my weekend. I LOVE tropical forests. Right now, my stamina is LOW LOW LOW. I am tired of getting winded. I've been cleared, and ENCOURAGED, by my doc, so here I go! One step at a time.

The goals I chose for this week:
1. get up without hitting the snooze button
2. eat 2 fruits/veggies day
3. exercise 10' per day

My short term goal is 20 lbs. My LONG term goal is over 100 lbs.

I'm looking for encouragement and education. and I BRING ENCOURAGEMENT to YOU!
