Lol, awe, thanks. I think open-ended with reminder sounds good. I was thinking about that last night. I think that will serve us best at the moment. With holidays, our needs change daily or even hourly. lol. I am excited about our meditation.

Gee, I hadn't thought about specifics...
What do you think? I am open to either option.
If we leave it open ended, will we remember to check in?
Will having a theme restrict us in just being able to relax and enjoy these "quiet moments"?
Maybe open-ended with a weekly reminder??

Do you want me to assign a theme for the week or just let it be open ended so you can personalize it more for what you are needing? Joanne I think itís a great idea! I think I am in need of something like this: Iím trying to create a new journaling habit and Iím struggling, so I think your idea works perfectly for me!

As for pilates a 3 times/week check in seems absolutely manageable!

Maybe it is just because I am doing this meditation thing, but what about doing a small moment challenge? We have a couple of fitness and activity streams going, so maybe doing something quiet would be an antidote to the craziness of the holiday season. I am not sure how it would work exactly...
Roughly, my thought is that you would find a small moment each day (or whatever) to:
- be still with your thoughts (cup of tea, meditate, listen to music)
- perform a kindness for someone else (hold a door, check in with a friend)
- practice gratitude (write it down)
- journal or write a letter
Maybe check in with three a week?
Just a thought, and don't be afraid to say no, this just won't work for me at this time. My feelings won't be hurt. I am just brainstorming!

This is the last week of the Fall Focus Challenge. What type of challenge would you like during the rest of November & December? I know everyone will be getting busy with all the festivities of the holidays so I want it to be very light and not time-consuming. I welcome input on any ideas you have. I really want to know if you want a challenge to keep things going or do you want a break. I hate to quit the challenge altogether because it is hard for people to come back without a reason. Thanks for your input.

Joanne, I love how active you are.
Loobird, glad you are joining us for the next challenge.

How about if we check in with hoop minutes working toward a team goal. We can add anything else we want to track too (exercise or water). The question of the week will be twice a week instead of everyday. The mini challenge can be a theme for the week reinforcing healthy living. If someone is dong something special, (side challenge, art, hoop tutorials, or reading book), it can be shared in the team site. It won't actually be part of the challenge. Maybe share what we are up too in "what did you do today" in a weekly post, because it inspires me hearing what everyone is up too.

Some of the side things that I am personally doing will be a weekly art lesson & hoop tutorials. I don't mind sharing if someone wants to do it with me. If not, I will just post my progress with these. I would love the accountability and discussion.

I really appreciate the input. It helps knowing what is working & what is too much.

Yes, simple check ins would suit me. (I will soon be spending 1-2 hours a day working In the veggie patch! All those weeds, all that harvesting!)
My goal for the summer is to take some outdoor activity every day (weather permitting). I will have three fitness classes per week instead of my usual four, and I hope to continue hooping most days, riding my bike and walking. I love going to the pool too, but have not made it very often in the last couple of months.
And then too, all the yard work I still its own kind of workout!

What do I want the next challenge to be.
I want it to be laid back. No pressure, but that fun accountability. Easy check in's. I enjoy the company of doing side challenges together. I love hearing what everyone's day is like. You ladies inspire me. I also want the challenge to assist you in any goals you have for the summer.
If you could let me know what your goals are then it will give me direction to go with the next challenge.
I am thinking the next challenge will go two months. (Late August). Check in graph will maybe be making spark streaks. Although it is disappointing on a streak when you have to start over. I liked the point system like we had this challenge. Maybe a streak system with 80% consistency would work. Let me know your thoughts. I welcome discussion and input on these challenges. Thank you.

I have a suggestion; don't hesitate to say NO WAY if it is not a good fit for us:
Pick a month, could be June, or an idea for a later date, during which each member posts the number of minutes of hooping each day.
Our goals: 1. have at least one member hoop each day that month, even if it just for a few minutes, and 2. then see what our monthly cumulative total minutes spent hooping would be. (This would remove the guilt if you have to miss a day, but would be an incentive to add to the monthly total.)
I am much more motivated if I am accountable to someone else, than if I am just telling myself to do it for me.
(Just thinking outside the hoop, er..., I mean box!)
