Actually you can find the shirataki noodles in local grocery stores. Mine is in the produce section with all the veggie free stuff. How many calories you eat depends on your weight. For me when i first started out i weighed 242 and my dr told me to eat at least 1700 calories but no more than 2000. so maybe you are not eating enough for size. i love the fiber one bars. i wasnt too fond of the 90 calorie ones though. something else you can try is the quaker granola bars if the fiber one bars are too expensive. I love those and they fill me up. also try chewing a piece of gum or sucking on a piece of hard candy. these are low in calories and help to curve your hunger

stretch things out a bit helps, and small snacks or a cup of hot tea helps in the down time--if you're satisfied with that, you don't need to eat (i know, its usually my taste buds demanding things more than my stomach, unfortunately)

gain, thank you for the article, it was very informative. Spinach, potatoes and beans are a great source to keep us feeling full!

I have the same problem so I started to do some research. Lean proteins and high fiber foods are what trigger the receptors in our brain that we are full. I have been eating small meals 6 times a day, each meal containing some form of fiber and lean protein. This diet strategy helped me lose 136 ibs two years ago and I hope it will help me take off the 70 ibs I have remaining. Here is a link that I think might be helpful. http://abcnews.go.com/gma/diet/story?id=16

Thanks for your comments everyone!

I'm definitely going to look for the fiberone and fiberplus bars on my next grocery run!

I do drink a lot of water...but not a gallon. I will try that! My usual water intake is about 80oz. I will definitely be drinking more from now on!

How do you cook the Japense noodles? I'm definitely going to go hunting for those next time I'm out and about. 10 calories for one cup?? Amazing!

Here are two really helpful tricks you can use.

1. This is going to sound stupid, but try it. Water. Get yourself a gallon jug of water for each day, and make it your daily chore to drain that sucker completely. A full gallon is about double your recommended daily intake (8 8oz glasses), Doing this will have a number of beneficial effects. For starters, you'll eliminate any "crossed wires" that result in you wanting to eat in order to placate a sensation actually caused by thirst. Second, your stomach will be full at all times, with water, so you won't feel as hungry as often. Third, it will keep your system totally flushed of built up toxins and other such ickyness, which often contribute to feeling depressed or lethargic.

2. Shirataki noodles, also known as "yam noodles." These are the bomb. It's a type of Japanese noodle made from a tree root, and are composed almost entirely of beneficial fiber. There's about 10 calories in a 1 cup serving. You have to get them from an Asian grocery because you won't find them at any American style stores. They're in the refrigerated section and are a little bit pricey, but worth it if you really want something to blunt your hunger. I used these when I was doing Atkins diet, and they were a lifesaver at times. Google them for instructions on how to cook with them.

Your weapons cannot harm me, I'm the JUGGERNAUT! I'll hit you with your own pimp!

How many calories is the site telling you to eat or are you setting a certain amount. I use to try eating 1200 calories day. I did loose weight but I feel better eating 1400 calories and I am still loosing weight. Maybe your not allowing yourself enough calories. OR sometimes people confuse water hunger with food hunger. Try drinking like a 8-10 oz glass of ice water and see what happens. Also, (money permitting) fiberone and fiberplus bars seem always to keep me filled between meals. I learned the other day if the package on bread doesn't say 100% wheat or whole grain it usually means its full of fillers with very little wheat/grains.

Hope you keep strong!

Try eating things that are less calories, and of more nutritional value. A whole can of green beans is only like 120 calories, for instance. If you put a bit of garlic salt on them they're pretty good. Thats what I have been doing and without trying I have been staying below or right at my target caloric intake.

Eating plenty of fiber and proteins are 2 things that can help you to feel full. Also drinking plenty of water can help. If I feel like I'm hungry I will drink water b/c that is one way of the body tell you that it may just need some more hydration. Hope this helps. Good luck with reaching your goals!!

I'm seriously hungry all day! I could eat forever! What's wrong with me?? I'm eating fibre...whole grains...I'm eating balanced meals. I eat breakfast, and I have snacks. But I continue to starve! Ugh, I don't know what to do. I could honestly eat 2000+ calories a day!
