If anyone is curious about Linda's 'Elevate' program, I thought I'd share day 68 of the program as an example of the kind of material you receive in the daily email.

Thanks Gill.
I rarely check here since I didn’t get the Elevate program but I’m glad to know I’m probably not missing anything since I have all her books. Some are physical books and some are on my Nook from Barnes & Noble.
One thing for sure is this team and Linda’s books are what keeps me interested in SparkPeople.
I also keep my daily weigh-in and the “dot” calendar on Linda’s website.

Thank you for your review. Good to know. I pay for SparkPeople premium 4.99 per month because the ads made everything slow. The access to sparkcoach is wonderful, I do it more now that I am not working and you can email a coach as well. Bright Line Eating has lots of programs and all very expensive! I appreciate SparkPeople. I use Facebook bright line groups which are free!

I've been receiving the daily emails and filing them in an email folder 'Elevate'!

In all honesty the Elevate programme isn't helpful for me, as I've already done the books before, and I'm busy doing this one. A downside to it is that it's evidently automatically sent out - so it lacks a certain amount of current personalisation. For instance, when the pandemic started, there was no interruption in the daily posts, but no message or anything. It's evidently set up to send out a daily email for 365 days. There hasn't been anything personal from Linda for a while. If someone didn't have the book, and wasn't here on Spark People, it would kind of guide you through the Days - in the same way that we do here.

The emails are made up of the existing blogs that we already see on her website etc. The only difference is that there is a 'review' email every few days. And a rest day every 14 days. There are sometimes links to motivational videos on You Tube (2018) which are only accessible to subscribers to Elevate (not public).

Day 23 is the second newsletter from Linda's Elevate Your Success program. And it's from her Friends with the Scale book - about the pros and cons of weighing ourselves.

I've been a daily weigher for some time now - it keeps me on-track, and I don't get any nasty surprises by leaving it a week before I weigh!

Some of what she wrote is included in this blog

Friends with the Scale is a 28-day book, and a great companion to the 100 Days books. It helped me change my relationship with the scale. Now I just step on, step off, record the number, and get on with my day.

In this blog, Linda writes to her friends and asks for support.

When I first read it, I thought "I'd never write a letter like that". Then I thought maybe I could write a letter like that and not send it.

But I re-read this today, and I think if I could find a way to kindly tell people that the sweets and things are not things I want in my life, then perhaps they'd stop sending them!

Cindy! Thanks for posting here - I wondered if anyone was doing Elevate. I just had the second newsletter - and I'm saving all the emails in a folder so I can use them when we do 100 Days of Weight Loss next time. I don't think I've 'got' anything from doing this on-line course yet - but I've been working these books for a few years' now so the material is familiar. However, it is good, I think, to get the daily email.

I still don't feel OK about writing a letter to anyone about what support I want. But today (Day 16) did make me think about writing a virtual letter to myself!

The daily emails from Linda are very easy to read and follow - nicely laid out.

It begins with 100 Days of Weight Loss - Two get-ready days: reasons to lose weight, and 7 secrets of success. Days 1 & 2, then a day to review; Days 3 & 4, then a day to review, then a 'weekly newsletter'

This week's newsletter (Day 9 of Elevate) was a nice surprise - it was about the important of daily exercise. This coincided with me signing up to belong to the gym (& swim) at the leisure centre. In response to the advice to try to exercise about 30 mins a day - I went through my calendar for next week and put an exercise session in for the next 7 days (run, swim, hoop, yoga, walk, bicycle, rebounding).

The exercise advice came in the form of a prescription from the doctor. Linda writes: "Sure, popping a pill might seem easier. But in the long run, this prescription will give you a lot more benefits than just lowering your blood pressure or cholesterol. it might be the secret to improving every area of your life."

Is anyone going to give Linda Spangle's new coaching program a try? I am! I want to see what it's like, so that I see how it works - and add it to the range of options available to people who are curious about emotional eating and find their way to the 100 Days of Weight Loss Team.

If you are giving this a go - then feel free to share your insights on this thread here.

If this is the first you've heard about it - then check it out here!

Incidentally, I have found out from Linda that if you are outside of the US, you need to contact her for Paypal details in order to sign up and pay as the 'shopping basket' program is only set up for US addresses. If you're stuck with this you can send Linda a private message here on Spark People, or let me know and I'll try and sort it for you.
