i have studied some about herbs and natural things to heal the body. honey bees are one natures greatest wonders..they collect pollen then they bring it back to the hives and make honey out of it. as they do they make a substance antitbodie, that heals people that have allergies to the pollen of the plants.. that is why natural honey from your area is so good for people with allergies. using the honey in allot of your foods is a natural allergy pill. among other things, have to get my books out to remember the rest but there is a ton of things that the honey can do for the body..

How funny you mention local farmers honey.....I just went to our street fair and bought honey and bee pollen from our local farmer here in the Coachella Valley. I would not pick it anywhere else!!! Even though its a couple bucks more...I know it's 100% pure and natural with no insecticide...the farmer actually has his own different types of flowers, sage, buckwheat, wildflowers, etc and you pick which one you want from those particular flowers. No two honey's are alike haha. MMMMmmmmmMMMM Good!!!!

Ginger,
You are making good choices! You really are the only one that can take care of yourself. Nobody else can exercise for you or chew your food. You are also right about Heavenly Father doing the rest as He as done before. Bless you!

see i used to smoke not like normal people i started at age eight, heavy by the time I was sixteen.. quite in 86 after two years of trying. I know if I ever pick up a nother one and light it it is all over bang i will go back to them. To this day i still get to wanting one...became a member five months after I quit smoking in 86.. so I have church standards which keep me going in the right direction.
my point once i quit I quit I had to make up my mind. food is not like smoking in allot of ways why you have to eat to live. you are surrounded by food and by food choices all the time. but you can make up your mind to eat healthy each and everyday and at each meal. for example. i usally ate a chicken sandwich smothered in may. today i ate a chicken sandwich with tomatoes, onions, celery. a little light mayo, on toasted bread. fat free milk.
and this week and last i have exercised and even started my yoga back and some strength training. i made up my mind.. yoyoqustopfeb11 is to remind myself of who i do not want to be ever again. this is a journey the road and i realize there will be a lot of forks in the road forgive the pun. i will be on tell i die. we all have to learn to control our appetites
my biggest goliath is not taking care of me, everyone else is always more important. as a nurse, as a wife, as a mother, as a daughter, as a church member etc.even the dead are more important then i am "genealogy" so I have to put myself first and not only does it feel strange I feel selfish but you know if I don't take care of me who will. noone else can exercise for me etc..
so I read this article on your goliath in the new era one day just happened to pick it up as i was walking the halls with Katy girl cause she was fuzzy.
five steps to overcoming your goliath
1.) courage
2.)effert
3.) humility
4.)prayer
5.) duty

ok i don't have much courage I am just me , the effert yeah i hear you if you don't work at it you will never reach a goal.humilty I have been on my knees so much about my weight etc, prayer yeah duty??? that made me think yeah it is my duty to my loving Heavenly Father who gave this body to take care of , it is my duty to stay as healthy as i can so I can be a mother to katy, duty to my husband to be there for him..duty to myself i need to do this to feel better bout me...
anyway after i thought about that article i decided i had to do all i could to change my life style Heavenly Father will do the rest he has my whole life..
anyway just my thoughts on things there just me ginger

hey,
I love granola so much, but when i buy it at the store it has so many added additives and sugar etc and calories. that almost all of it is to unhealthy for me to eat let alone pay for. well i was looking up recipes on sparks oh my word so many ideas recipes for it and healthy ones too. and how to make it also.. you know i am so excited not only am i eating right and losing weight i am eating the things i loves so I know in my heart and soul this time if I put in the effort and time I can and will do this and be so much healthier for it.
oh ideas since both my parents had diabetes and yes i am right there "was six months ago # 127" but last month my sugar was better 98. so all that changes I can make to prevent me from taking medication for it and shots I am trying and they are working. i use sugar free syrup splenda, white sugar and brown sugar wheat flour instead of white as much as possible.
fruit in its own juice etc or i wash the sugar off the fruit. or i eat things with sugar but i use less. it is not the sugar that hurts as much as to many carb...unhealthy carbs.
anyway the sugar free syrup would be a great sub in the granola also honey not only is good for you. if it is local honey taken regular can add in fighting seasonal allergies.. yes i got them too and yes it helps.. plus if you buy it from a local honey bee farmer it will keep yrs and yrs in your cupboard..
