I have had several occasions where the first to help are those whose exterior you would judge differently. They are true lessons of good people in the world and not judging superficially.

My youngest son and daughter in law have had a month or two of interesting experiences losing their wallets.

My daughter in law has two young children and hasn't figured out what she wants to do about her wallet. Used to carry in the diaper bag and has been leaving the bag in the car and bringing her wallet to shop. With the two kiddos and her phone and wallet in her hands, she has left it on three different occasions in a "big box" store.

Each time in a very short time, a stranger knocked on her door and returned the wallet. They were described as "not someone you would expect to be kind (a little rough looking)" "someone who didn't smell very good" and "a fellow from Pakistan."

My son lost his wallet at stake conference. Some stakes in Utah use the Conference Centeror Regional Centers for stake conference. He had just moved his wallet from the back pocket to the front so it wasn't in a "normal place" and sometime during the day, it was lost. He returned and didn't find it and called the center and it wasn't turned in. He called for several days. He checked at my house where his address has been and we looked in the mail. No luck.

After two weeks, it was returned today by a gentleman who didn't live in my son's stake and who found it at the building. I was so excited that it came back. It has been such a frightening time for the kids even though they had cancelled the cards.

It really made me sad that strangers who my daughter in law would not have spoken to (a lesson for another time) in other circumstances were quick to return her wallet with all the cash and cards and my son's wallet that was lost at church among the Saints didn't come back.

It is back and now I feel much better about the whole circumstance. In a month or two they experienced four acts of kindness and love and charity from strangers who traveled out of their way and returned their wallets to them.

I haven't asked the kids what they are doing to make sure it doesn't happen again. Four times is ridiculous!!!
