In April it will be a year since my ACDF. I did not realize the cold would bother me so much. I have gained 20 pounds from not being active.

I do have metal, now, in my back, but either way I can't do cold at all. My body hurts from shivering . I don't know if that helps. Good luck!

I don't have metal in my neck, only bone grafts, so haven't had that problem. I have lots of metal in my lower back, but, of course, that is always covered (even in the summer, no bikinis here!)

Guess it makes sense, because metal conducts heat or cold so easily!

Did your doctor have any suggestions to improve the problem?

I was just wondering how many of us have become less tolerant to cold weather after their fusion/s?

I have a lot of metal in my neck and since my last surgery, if I go out into the cold without my neck and upper chest covered, I get a lot of pain. Does anyone else have this issue? I told my surgeon and he said he has heard that from others.

Weird.
