I went to the store today and got a few things with lower / zero cholestrol to them and that's what we'll be eating. A few things I'll have to use up cause as someone else said, we can't throw out the food. But Bob knows the changes are necessary so he's going along with it as much as he can. He's a man, he has to gripe some.

I also had high cholesterol but am glad to report that mine is now he taking any fish oil or flaxseed as well. I take 3600mg fish oil a day, 1 capsule with each meal. I get 1200mg capsules, I know that people are worried about the after taste and fish burps but this is minimised if you keep them in the fridge.
Hope that this is of some help to you.

Things are about to turn around. I'm revamping our plan and we've talked about what changes have to be made. Bob isn't happy about some of them but he'll adjust.

I wish you and your husband well. It can be tricky trying to balance extra issues along with your original Spark goals. Good quality fish oil (preferably in liquid form) can be of help to lower 'bad' cholesterol while increasing the levels of good HDL levels.

I hope you and hubby are able to find a workable solution - best wishes to you both.

Peace and blessings to all

May your light always shine

And your heart follow the call

Of all that is divine

Best of luck getting it sorted - hope it gets sorted soon emoticon

Smile .... it makes people wonder what you're up to ;-)

It is far easier to MAKE time to exercise than it is to FIND time to exercise. You want results???? MAKE it happen.

Keep trying - you CAN do it - believe in yourself!

Hi Everyone,
I'm stressed out right now. Just heard from hubby's doctor and the last blood tests showed he still has too much cholestrol so they want to double his cholestrol meds and then retest his blood in 3 months. So now on top of the other changes to our diet, I now have to figure out ways to cut the cholestrol down more. Given me a huge headache.
I know Bob is ready to chuck it all. He's such a picky eater and we've changed so much over the last 10 months because of his heart issues. Now we need to do more. And I don't know where to start. I'll add the cholestrol counter to the nutrition page and see what spark allows and go from there.
