Now that we've made the move from GA to AZ, I am working on getting things worked out so I can get back to my lap swimming at least twice a week and for those days I can't swim, I have my recumbent bike to ride. I no longer am doing the Jenny Craig diet since AZ won't give us our Senior discounts that we qualified for in GA, so we will be doing our own thing. But what really helps me is to food diary everything I eat, every day. That keeps me accountable.

I've tried everything - WW, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, Whole30, Adkins, Paleo....

I have finally found what absolutely works for me as a way of life - with a bonus impact of (slow) weight loss): Intermittent Fasting: OMAD

Love it. I eat whatever I want - once a day.
Losing about a pound a month at this point, but I'll take it. Slow is ok when I'm not planning on changing this WOE ever.

Also recently became pescatarian (would like to be vegan - for the environment mainly but so far hard to give up dairy, crab and shrimp - so I just reduce those for now).

Thank you for your words of encouragement!! It is helpful to hear that. I have been under alot of extra stress during the past 4 years while our son and his wife and 2 daughters have been living with us. Now that they have moved out, things are starting to settle down, we are able to start work on doing alot of the repair work on the house that we weren't able to do while we were supporting them financially. So things are still very busy and still somewhat stressful but it is getting better. I am just keeping on keeping on, with God's help.

I have been working my Jenny Craig program, an older version than what they are running now, but I get really tired of losing and gained the same 2 or 3 pounds. My mini-goal is to lose and stay below 200. Now that I am finally back to my swimming, I was hoping that it would be enough to get my moving in the right direction consistantly, but it hasn't been. I get discouraged when I gain a little, encouraged when I lose, and the up and down takes a toll on my emotions. But I can't give up because I know where I would be if I did. Back up to the 244 pounds that I was when I started. So I keep asking God to help me daily, sometimes even hourly.

HI ya'll, well, I am trying to get back into the swing of things again. After a shoulder/arm injury and being benched from my swimming by my doctor for the past 6 months, I have recently been given the all clear to start back. While I was benched, I tried to use my recumbent bike as an alternative but could barely maintain my weight, forget about any weight losses. I faithfully stayed on my diet program and logged my foods every day and just being aware of what and how much or how often I was eating helped but it wasn't enough. Now that I am back in the pool and slowly getting back into the groove of things, I am hoping that my weight loss efforts will be much more successful. Yeah, I'M SWIMMING AGAIN!!!

Well, I have started a "year of Chalean" on my own (Chalean Johnson is a trainer). I'm doing her PiYo right now and because she speaks of gut health and the "forever pregnant" look, I've decided to try her nutrition program. Right now, it's weird because it's anti-inflammatory week so my foods are very basic and the same. Which is fine. If I can lose the pudge I will trust the process.

It's also seeming like it's keto based which I thought I'd NEVER try. Hard to wrap my head around the more fats less carb approach. They say it's not, but it feels that way. LOL But it's 12 weeks of lessons and learning so I will trust the process and see where it goes.

I'm now attending a VA program called MOVE today will be 2nd meeting. We are learning portion size, healthy options how to shop etc. The program leader collects our food logs and goes over them to give ideas where we need to make changes. It's a 16 week program

What is YOUR plan for losing weight? Are you following a certain "diet" or exercise program? What have you found to help you lose? Give ideas of what works for YOU.
