Aww, he will make it through. Since you have named him, I am guessing he is yours now, Holly.

Letsgo, I will try it. I like the lower sodium factor!

Last night I made soup, potato, kale and navy beans with onion. It was good.

So kitten (Booger) made it through another night. Yesterday before the vet, I found another wound on his front leg at the bend and muscle is exposed there. He's a sad little boo and didn't even weigh a pound. He is eating well and eliminating without assistance though. He is feisty and the vet thought he had a good chance of surviving his injuries if the antibiotics work. He can only take a tiny amount because he is so little.

Awww, Holly. I hope the kitten makes it. Poor baby.

Em the link did not work, but I will look it up. Is it the same thing as Bragg's Liquid Amino Acid? I use that already.

So I was working in the yard Saturday and had my garage door up for a while. Later that evening went out in the garage for something and heard a kitten crying. I found where it was hiding under some "stuff" but couldn't get to it without opening the door again. Unfortunately it slipped away before I could get my hands on it. I went back out into the garage several times to listen, just in case there were more. We have a lot of ferals in the neighborhood and one likely deposited the kitten there. I heard nothing. Well, last night around 11pm I went out in the garage and heard another kitten crying. I found it with it's little leg wedged between two boards, sick and emaciated from not having any food for two and a half days. I brought it in and fed it some wet food and water and nursed it through the night. It has a wound on it's leg where it was wedged between the boards and a sore by it's mouth. I'll be taking it in to the vet at 11am today. If you pray, please pray for this little baby. I just want to save it's little life.

Great Mrs. L! Love reading this!

Springtime, your list is similar to mine. I don't use the asian sauces, however. I look for low sodium salad dressings to use in dishes. As for herbs, I would add oregano to the list, I use it often. I don't cook with Cholula, I use it as salt. Barbecue sauce is used quite often.

Sharon, thanks for the garlic tip. I will be doing that!

I am watching a Zac Efron documentary on Netflix with Darren Olien, Down to Earth. Darren is vegan, here is his website. darinolien.com/superlife/ I would recommend the Netflix show.

I'm seeing the results of my focusing on my leg strength by doing lunges, squats and wall sits every time I'm waiting for something (microwave, dh, etc..). Yesterday, while kayaking, we had to do a lot of portaging because the water was lower due to a drought we are having. I had no problem, compared to a month ago, getting in and out of the kayak. Yay functional exercise!

Roasted garlic - when I know the oven will be on a while, I wrap a garlic bulb (or two or three) in foil and pop in the oven with what I'm cooking. Then refrigerate. When I want garlic for a recipe, I just squeeze a clove and out pops this yummy garlic paste.

Cumin - evidently I'm allergic to it. There is no anitbody for testing for it. So I just avoid, which is hard with so many good recipes. I just substitute cayenne or paprika.

All the others I love too. SPRINGTIME, thanks for posting.

Re: Seasoning suggestions -
I'm really not very good at just putting stuff together and having it taste good, so I usually use recipes. That being the case, I've purchased a number of things over the last year or two that I've really come to enjoy, and have used to flavor things other that the recipes for which I purchased them.

Some of my favorite spices:
cumin
coriander
cayenne and red pepper flakes (if you like a bit spicy)
onion powder
garlic powder
roasted garlic powder (DH picked this up a few weeks ago and we've been using it pretty steadily to flavor a lot of different things)

Herbs:
basil
rosemary
thyme
(plenty of others, but these are my personal favorites)

Hot sauces (these are packaged sauces, but most don't have too many ingredients on the labels). While they're all hot sauces, they each have distinct flavors from each other:
Chili Garlic Sauce (Vietnamese)
Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce (Thai)
Gochujang Chili Sauce (Korean)
Sweet Chili Sauce (Thai)

Have had Cholula Sauce in restaurants, but have none here at home and have not tried to cook with it.

Other Sauces:
Soy sauce (of course), or liquid aminos or coconut aminos if you're avoiding soy.
Hoisin Sauce
Mirin - I just used this for the first time tonight. Mixed it with soy sauce and marinated some mushrooms in it, then grilled them. They turned out to be very good.
I finally found some vegan worcheshire (I'm sure I've spelled that wrong) sauce and have been making some recipes with that.
Of course, good old BBQ sauce.
And, finally, Liquid Smoke. Just a few drops of this will add a fabulous smoky flavor to foods, and give them some umami that we often crave.

Yes chips and salty food are my trap too. We ate a big bag of tortilla chips in three days. My fault, I ordered them. Don eats dry roasted salted peanuts everyday. I finally got him to keep them somewhere other than where I can easily find them and eat a handful.

On a more positive note I got 2 1/2 quarts of vegetable stock from scraps I had saved in the freezer.

Letsgoplay, I am like you. I do OK with sweets, but not potato chips! He loves them all, including the cheesy ones and fritos.

We eat out or order on the weekends. Too much sodium, but I choose veggies and starch.

I love cholula sauce!- so good.

Linda- yep my DH too. I did get him to stop bring potato chips home. I love those. He had a birthday yesterday and office got him cake the day before.. He brought leftover home and I had a sliver. He had it for breakfast! Sweets I can control but chips/pizza type things- harder for me.

I don't have any actual recipes right now, Gram, but Cholula Sauce is fabulous on things, comes in different flavors and I use it instead of salt.

Letsgoplay, it would be wonderful to get my dh to quit sugar, sweets of any kinds, candy eating, fast foods, chips, french fries... all of which he brings home and offers some to me. I resist most of the time but not all the time. I don't know what it will be like when he actually retires.

Dr. Garth Davis joked in his presentation that “you could hold up a bank with a piece of bread, people are so scared of carbs,” and shared that he too once subscribed to low-carb messaging.

and I think it is heavily marketed to the menopausal and post meno- crowd. I know I am in that target group. I have a cousin who is doing it and we are like a long term experiment She is losing weight- BUT can't keep up with me on walks. We both are no on meds- anyhow it is like an experiment.
Because I am against keto I did it for 6 weeks. I got heart palpitations. I just felt tired after workouts and once on a long bike ride was not sure I would make it home. Yes- I probably should have weighted to take the bike ride(I went out for an 18 mile ride and I prob had the eketo flu)...anyhow my DH asked if I was trying to kill him after I packed him a lunch of some sort of keto thing and I joked back no you don't have life insurance.. we both feel better on WFPB ...of course I can't get DH to stop putting sugar in his coffee Which would be ok if he only had one a day..anyhow distracted there..

anyhow- so sure it was great to lose the water weight and I did lose more but I never felt 100%. I also got insomnia- not sure why. I did it so I could know it first hand.

None of us ever has to give up anything. We just have to live with the consequences... emoticon I've said at every stage of the game there are certain things worth staying where I am for and even risking a few years. But I've let go of a lot of them as I saw the advantages internally. I am keeping some flavor makers... for now. Though I use a lot less than I used to. Bland is kind of relative. Who knows how I'll feel in a few years?

It can be hard to accept that the body can live on way fewer calories than we would like to eat. If someone has been heavy, and then loses, she has to eat several hundred calories a day less forever then someone at that same weight who never lost weight. (keto has shown that it lowers metabolism less than other ways of reducing calories; so has intermittent fasting, and short multiple day fasting.) But it is true that processed foods will keep your weight setpoint higher than non-processed foods do. And the blander the food you’re willing to eat, the more likely it is you will be sated with less. The body adjusts all kinds of processes to accommodate low palatability.

Oolala, I am not losing like I should. I have had people tell me I should go keto. I lost weight on low carb, but my kidneys suffered and I still have kidney issues. Keto would be bad for kidneys too. I like your story, Gram!

I am sticking with this and trying to eat less processed food. I am 40 pounds overweight. I lost 20 at first and then just stopped. At least I have not gained.

It is hard for doctors to believe that medicines can cause slow metabolism. They CAN and I believe that is my problem!

I am waiting for when my back is "fixed." I should lose weight then.

Last night I created a dish with barley, navy beans, corn, bell peppers and barbecue sauce. It was good. We had salad with it.

The low carb people have their weight loss successes, too. To me the weight loss is not the advantage. It is a side effect for me. I just kept moving towards foods that made me feel less compulsive about eating them while still enjoying them. I’ll admit that I actually sometimes miss foods I used to eat. But so far they are not worth trading for what I have now.

But speaking of weight loss, I have lost and recently a fair amount from around my waist if I can judge from how some pants fit. I think it is claimed that should not happen on as much starch as I eat. But I still have plenty of jiggle. The part of me conditioned by the beauty/appearance industry does not like that much, but I am not willing to live much differently daily to change that.

A neighbor friend and I were in a group at a restaurant last year and we got to talking about food. She does keto. I told her I often have 200 grams of carbs in a day. She almost jumped out of her chair and said oh no you’re only supposed to eat 30. I said I’m not on your diet. When I went whole foods plant based I immediately dropped my last 8 lbs. Then she wanted to know what the name of my diet was. Lol

To be fair, there are self-righteous followers of all kinds of eating routines. I admit that I can have a furrowed brow on the inside a lot in almost any eating environment. But I try to remember when I was in big denial (I'm sure I still am in eating and plenty of other areas), and just couldn't accept making necessary changes. But I doubt many people were thinking, "Is she going to eat that?" because they were all eating it and wanted company for it!

Doing my 5-say plan. It seems harder this time, though I don't know why. But I'm halfway through, so I guess I'll finish. I have faith it is doing good things, even if not one of the effects I would like.

Happy eating and healing to all!

Letsgo, I agree, people are way too self-involved and don't notice some things they should. I work at NOT being that way.

I finally got used to kale and now love it. Collards, too. Of course all the soul food restaurants have collard greens, only with hamhocks in it or some form of pork. Yuck. I grew up on greens, beans and cornbread. My mom did not particularly like meat, although she cooked it, so we had many meatless dinners. Then she married a farmer in later life and became a beef lover, because it was always in her freezer. At least they had hormone antibiotic free meat, but still beef, however and her husband passed from a massive heart attack.

Stretching does not help, sorry. I have herniated discs and stenosis. I am trying to build my core and lose more weight. That should help until I can have surgery.

Oolala, I have looked for Babette's Feast and cannot find it. Some day it will re-surface. Maybe on TCM? It was, indeed, delightful.

Self righteous vegans, I try not to be that, as well.

Mrs. L- So true about the stretching- I try to remember to do it before or stop after some walking and stretch.

Oolala- amazing people were rolling their eyes and you get attention like that . I always figure people are so self involved they hardly notice anything esp. me. Or maybe invisibility is my super power emoticon Kale is great stuff. Good luck with the yogurt.

Sun is peeking out. Trail is open. Off I go after setting up DH's lunch. I might food shop today ..not sure.

MrsL- next project for me is to grow my own garlic. Any tips appreciated

I saw Babette’s Feast decades ago. I don’t remember a lot except that it was delightful, especially a scene in which the Paris chef is instructed in how to revive salt cod. How she listened without shouting Mon Dieu!(sp?) I don’t know.

Linda, sorry to hear you’re not feeling peppy but you're getting cooking done and that's central.

Mrs., M, I assume in your recipe you posted on another thread you meant 1 ˝ cups beans. I think it just says 1 1/2 beans. Would hardly be worth putting them in. emoticon

I’m having to fight off the self-judgment reading of all the organizing going on. I got Flylady’s newsletter for years and never did anything. I’m on the team here, but it just seems I always open the emails at a time when I can’t/won’t follow up. I even bought her app a few weeks ago. It helped for a while and then… It can become a way to just feel bad. But tomorrow’s another day. Maybe some day I’ll have the equivalent of a normal BMI house. But I do always make my bed and swish and swipe. And I've gotten rid of tons of stuff.

I never had good luck making yogurt in the old days but maybe now that I have an Instant pot, it would be worth a try again.

I’ve actually been eating kale for about 30 years. We made it in a macrobiotic cooking class I took then and never left it behind. It sure got a lot of curious looks in the lunchroom at work. I would have to try not rolling my eyes when colleagues starting saying in the last five years how healthy kale is. Oh, really? I’ve just been eating it for.. well I do actually like it. I don't usually do the rubbing thing, but I don't know why. Usually sauté the stems and lightly steam the ribbon-cut leaves on top, then add it to other dishes. I just had some tonight with some shredded beets and a peanut sauce. It's nice they have more kinds now.

Speaking of greens, are people seeing collards? I have seen them in the market only once since March, and this is California! But there's plenty of kale. Go figure, since they're both officially winter crops.

I'm probably going to jinx it but we are having the coolest summer I can remember. We had rain at the end of June on a day that it had rained on only one other time in 150 years. And we just had the coolest August 1 in history, I think. I am liking it, but I feel for the people at the beach.

You have to admit some vegans can be pretty self-righteous and that always attracts some animosity. Eating and health opinions are more like religion these days, with the data a bit like scripture. I can feel it a little in myself and I try to weaken that.

Wow, I rarely feel tired this early in the evening but I do! Glory be! I just hope I don't wake up at 2 a.m. never to return to sleep.

Ican insight: I try to stretch before any activity-really helps my back and shoulders to do this. Before I work in the garden, I do yoga and pilated stretches. Before I started doing this, I'd be in bed half the rest of the day after working in my garden in the morning. Could you do some simple stretches before you cook? Proud of you getting your mojo back!

I got it, Letsgoplay! I am not sure I am up to making yogurt quite yet.

I made split pea soup and cornbread for supper last night. I LOVE the cornbread, vegan made with cream corn, and dh does too! I also cooked batch starch foods (barley and brown rice) for the week. Of course, after that, my back hurt. I guess the steroid shot wore off OR I have been doing more on my feet. At least, I am thankful to say, no A-FiB!

Holly I would not know a capacitor from a fan. We got a new A/C in March (or April?), right after the covid stay at home orders. We already had it scheduled. It was time. The houses in our neighborhood have had a lot of A/C breaking around the same time. Our little subdivision is about 12 years old.

Sharon- I don't think my soymilk yogurt has casein- I am going to make other kinds soon too. One more batch of soy and then venturing out to plant/seed and even grains. Grain yogurts I def have to research.

I used to make yogurt. Since then I’ve been diagnosed with an allergy to casein, which led me to vegan.

I did sauté the kale and used onion, water, sliced kale and some orange juice I squeezed. Still it seemed bitter to me, but it’s good for me snd I ate it. It cooked down to almost nothing but enough for hubs and I. I admit I like it ok in soups or smoothies.

Holly I hope your A/c fix is not too expensive. Yes we need that here in Florida.

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

I have an AC repairman coming out this afternoon to work on my unit. The unit stopped cooling Saturday morning and I spent all day and all night baking in my 90 degree house. When it tried to kick on it would hum, but the fan wouldn't engage so it couldn't cool the house. I figured out the problem on Sunday (capacitor) and was able to manually engage the AC fan (with a chopstick) every time the unit tried to kick on so I was able to stay cool Sunday and last night. Every time I've ever had issues with my AC unit it has been in the miserable heat of July or August on a Saturday, when calling a repairman out would cost double! Hopefully the capacitor is the only problem and this won't be too spendy.

Thanks for the yogurt tip, Em!

Sharon, my stamina is not very good. I have a mitral valve problem also and the heat zaps me. We were out in the heat at the grave site and outside the nursing home talking to BIL. It was really humid too. If I stay in and do things, I do well. Texas is HOT and we were further south.

Mrs L, I did not know there were different kinds of kale. I am with Night, getting used to it. Thanks for the tips.

Welcome home Linda.

Yogurt- key thing for me was to use a rich palin soymilk. I used Edensoy. I heard Westsoy is good too.
I used Cultures for Health vegan yogurt starter. After you start a batch you save some- can't remember how much and use that. I put it in the instant pot. Set yogurt setting or as it says Yo9t
emoticon for 15 hours. I used mason jars. I think you can just put it in liner pan but I use that thing all the time and I thought it might smell odd.

that was it

Linda: Glad to hear you are safe.

I edited my previous post about one kale recipe. I forgot turmeric:

*sautee with onions and garlic, add tomato sauce, Tumeric and raisins

I don't think you would be impressed with how my garden looks. We have had a month of more than 90 degree days and almost NO rain. The weeds got away from me because I couldn't get to them.

Since I no one can see my garden it matters not one whit to me how it looks. Some years I get discouraged around this time, but then by fall I notice that my freezer and pantry are full. In spite of it being a treasure hunt to find produce, I am putting up a couple quarts of green beans every few days and eating tomatoes, okra daily now for meals.

My exercise today will be carrying water from the water barrels to the garden and swing blading the weeds! Then, long walks between the pear tree on the far end of the farm.

Take care all.Remember, peace begins in your own life, first!

Good morning all. Thanks for the kale support. I will sauté the kale sometime soon. MrsL I’d love to tour your garden someday. I

Well the hurricane left us almost no rain so today I have to water plants. Hopefully Isaias will be kind to the east coast.

Linda how is your stamina? I’m hoping you’re feeling more like yourself. I spoke with our daughter who’s had the covid and she is still dealing with fatigue.

Welcome home, Linda! Hope you are having a peaceful and restorative Sunday. :)

Great kale suggestions, Mrs! I also massage fresh kale with a little oil until it becomes really vividly, bright green, then add directly to salads. I've been a "kale NO" person for a long time, and am slowly getting to like it more and more. I think being vegan adjusts our tastebuds in a positive way. Anyone else liking vegetables you didn't like before you became vegan?

Sharon - I feel you. As an ethical vegan I find that the attacks are ubiquitous and can show up from nowhere - such as if I ask a company if their products are vegan online.
Just like every justice and ethical movement through the ages, people feel threatened and attacked. Even hearing that someone chose this path can be taken as an attack on someone's lifestyle.
And it makes sense - we have to disguise and hide animal cruelty to such a tremendous extent in order to make support of factory farming okay in society. Was it Paul McCartney who said, "if slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegan"?

I'm really working on letting go of all the self-judgement and negative self talk I go around with everyday. Having a deliciously mellow Sunday and hope you are, too. Stay cool and hydrate, please!

I have three kinds of kale in my garden and they all are used in the same ways!

I sautee them with onions, garlic and lemon slices and a little brown sugar.

*sautee with onions and garlic, add tomato sauce, Turmeric and raisins

*Add to dal and have that as a side, or use that dal with kale as base on veggie wraps

*Add to any soup

I don’t understand why people can’t accept the fact other people eat different. I don’t see vegans as threatening. Well unless you operate factory animal confinement’s.

Linda safe travels.

Thank you so, so much for taking care of that business, Holly. What a meanie. Glad I didn't get the message but sad that others did.

Homemade yogurt? Wow, how cool is that? I bet it tastes ten times better than store-bought and fewer chemicals, too.

Letsgoplay: Big congrats on your achievement making soy yogurt. I don't understand why it is SOOO hard to find plain yogurt. Plain yogurt can be used for so many things besides on tacos or enchiladas. When I make oat milk, I use the thicker stuff to make yogurt.

Good job!

That is strange. I rmember too well the odd sparkers hijacking our veg team- some of you who ae also on that team may remember. We were lucky to get back control of it. It was either one person /a group who swooped in to try to change it from a vegetarian team to some kind of odd flex type thing. Claiming they were all Amish sisters yet they have changed their ID's and personalities here. Well after all it is the internet.
Holly-Good for you for blocking the user.

I made some soymilk yogurt- It turned out well. Edensoy plain. I just started so I used culture and 3 mason jars- one is filled up half way. Now I can keep some of that for new batches. I am going to try other milks too, 15 hours in instant pot on Yo9t setting emoticon

Holly: I got the same. At first I wondered if it was because I posted plant based meals on the message board; and that it was someone who is solidly in the meat/eggs group. I have noticed in some of my posts that aren't in specifically plant based teams there are people who are vehemently opposed---the kind that would walk past someone eating a big mac and fries yet go nuts on someone because they eat fruits and vegtables. Really wierd. But we live in really wierd times.

So I got this weird PM today from a new Sparker. The subject line was: Hey Big Head! and it was a partial list of weight loss friendly foods that was primarily meat and eggs plus a link which I wasn't about to copy and paste. Annoying, but not technically inappropriate so I can't really report it. I did block the user (GAGARZ). It's all very strange.

Y'all are so industrious! I am cooking, cleaning house, etc. but that is all. Note: we stay fairly organized around here, but there are things I could go through. I invented a quick recipe last night, pretty good! Spiraled zucchini, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, onions, black pepper and topped with toasted pumpkin seeds.

We must all be on the same wavelength. I found a container with assorted dried beans that had a pantry fly or two in it. I threw out the package that had evidence of pantry flies and am cooking the other packages today.

We are walking every morning on the farm and are able to notice when a tree has fallen and needs to be cut, or other things. Same indoors. It's good to check all parts of your home (attic, basement, garage, etc and look for things that need to be fixed).

That is one reason why I like flylady. Over the course of the year you have cleaned and organized all parts of your home. I kept a control journal that had pages for every area--lists of what needed to be fixed, or needed items bought for that area. Good way to plan. There is a flylady group on sparkpeople and it was active last time I looked.

I had so much stuff in the pantry because I've been buying things for specific recipes, and then lose track of what's behind those new things. When I cleaned out yesterday, I found duplicates of 3 different things; I was able to consolidate and get three packages out of the cabinet.
Sounds like you're going to have a fun time cooking with your daughter, enjoy.

I am cleaning and reorganizing my cupboards as well. I've been a bit sloppy lately and sometimes can't find things I know I have, because I stored them in the wrong place. I recently bought a vacuum sealer and next weekend, my daughter is coming down and we're going to cook, seal, and freeze a couple of week's worth of lunches for her so she doesn't end up eating fast food all the time.

I've been spring-cleaning my kitchen. Spent yesterday cleaning out and reorganizing the pantry, and then cleaning and removing everything from the kitchen (except dishes, etc. inside the cabinets).
Today is the actual cleaning part, then putting it all back together.

I'm here! Just really busy in the garden these days and cooking everything up! Today I had some red lentils to use up and needed to have some healthy low fat dressings for my salads and power bowls. So, I concocted a recipe (that I will KEEP--oh it's soooo good) for Ceasar Salad Dressing.

I posted it here:

Yesterday I worked so much outside but didn't have enought time to do a long walk but still got 10,000 steps!! Today, I'll be in the kitchen making about six different things so that nothing goes bad. The bella mushrooms are being sauteed in a little barbecue and steak sauce.

Hope everyone is well and making good choices. And if you are not don't beat yourself up!

No, I have not tried the app. I probably need to. I have the magazine on my kitchen counter. It has some quick recipes for dinner.

ICANINSIGHT, I love the FOK magazines! Do you have their recipe app? I think I paid $4.99 for it. It's a one time price, not monthly, and they update with new recipes every month.

Well, today I got up and hit the road early to avoid the south Florida heat. I already have over 12,000 steps on my FitBit. I walked 7 miles at 14:58 minutes per mile! Now I'm going to go dust off my dehydrator and make some zucchini chips. The zucchini I bought is monstrous. It weighed in at over 3 pounds and is as big around as my upper arm, but it will be perfect because the chips do shrink up a bit.

I have seen Big Night and loved it! Waiting for Louis Prima.... There was another older one, from the 80's I think, Babette's Feast. If you have the chance, I would recommend it.

Also, heart disease is the biggest killer of people in the U.S. Partly why I chose this WOE.

I have not been good lately. That changes today. I purchased the FOK magazine yesterday and plan to go through all the recipes.

My tax accountant said her hairdresser confirmed an appointment with her this week, then called the day of and said he had tested positive so he was isolating. An acquainance in town announced on Facebook that a male friend of hers that I think was in his 50's died of COVID this week. These are the first I've heard of so close to my local network. I'm actually surprised it has taken this long.

But we have probably had over half a million deaths from CVD, cancer, and diabetes since the first of the year. Too bad people won't tolerate hearing about that on a daily basis. I think it should be required to have a running banner across all TV broadcasts. And certainly any time there is a big news story on a plane going down or a car crash fatality. But the human brain is wired for the dramatic and individual. Oy vey, rolling my soapbox on wheels to the side.

Got a big haul of zucchini and experimented with a kind of sauce. Zuke will mush up similarly to tomatoes. I've never understood why it isn't made into pasta sauce routinely. So far just used it as a soup, but will cook some of it down to be a little thicker. I left it to cook in the Instantpot before I went on my morning walk. My house smelled like what I think an Italian house would smell like, in a good way! Though it's likely even Italian houses don't smell like garlic and herbs at 8 a.m. They're the ones missing out!

Speaking of Italian food, has anyone seen the movie Big Night? Have I already talked about it. It's one of my favorite arthouse movies of all time. It's free on Amazon Prime this month.

Picked my first pumpkin (may be the last, bunnies!) and will be roasting on the grill today and freezing in quart bags for the winter. The seeds I roast without oil for low fat snack-Believe me, the seeds when rinsed in water are perfect for the seasoning to stick to them before roasting.

On these hot days, I enjoy taking a handful of frozen grapes from the fridge and popping them in my mouth.

I really need to load up on peaches and nectarines now that they are less expensive and freeze for the winter. I really like to use chopped peaches instead of syrup with my waffles.

I've let m sourdough starter go flat so I'll be building it up and making pitas, waffles, pancakes this week. I believe in having a lot of good bacteria in my gut and sourdough and saurkraut are one way to do it.

I LOVE everything but the bagel seasoning! I recently found a knock-off brand in Ollie's and it was a large-sized container for $2.49! Snatched that right up! I like to sprinkle it all over my avocado toast.

Holly, thanks for the seasoning info, I might dust off my dehydrator and try that one day this week.

Mrslivingwell, that seasoning sounds yummy, I'm going to look for a recipe to make my own.
