My husband is having his ordination ceremony tomorrow. Today, in some ways, has gone more smoothly than I anticipated. My in-laws will be coming tomorrow, and this ceremony was supposed to take place last year, but we postponed it due to the seriousness of her situation. Finally, we're having it, and she's going to be there. Last year, we weren't sure she would make it. Plus, our family has a new baby. So, we have much to praise Him for. emoticon

In my weight loss journey I have changed sizes in clothing more rapidly than I originally thought I would. That can be expensive. However, through consignment shops, Goodwill, and now yard sales, I have managed to replenish my wardrobe for a fraction of what it would cost me to buy things brand new. However, an outfit I bought today was brand new (through a garage sale), and I only paid $4 for it!! A lady in our church said she thinks she'll have some more clothes for me. She gave me a nice jacket and top last Sunday. With those, I officially made my goal of getting into clothing that is not a plus size.

My husband's aunt, for whom I requested prayer a few weeks ago, is doing well right now. She is even back to driving by herself, some. Her husband is getting ready to have knee replacement soon. He needs to make some permanent lifestyle changes. I don't mean to sound judgmental; I just hope he does for his sake and his wife's. I have other family members who need to do the same. I am concerned for their health as I was my own -- still am, somewhat.

I am thankful to God that He led the doctors to finding the cause of my pain - and now I pray for patience and strength as I prepare for surgery. God is Good!

Praise for a wonderful Easter service, good attendance at church, and a wonderful day with family, especially our new niece. It was so sweet to see her with her grandparents, especially with my mother-in-law whom we nearly lost last Summer. This little one is truly a reward to our family for what we've been through.

Today has been a beautiful day, especially for shopping. A lot of other people must have thought so too because the highway was crowded. I had a successful morning sorting through closets and shopping for new clothes. It's wonderful being in a smaller size. My Easter outfit is complete. Normally I don't feel I have to have new clothes for Easter, but I need some new things anyway. I also want to look my best no matter what day it is. It's so warm today I had to change tops when I got home (before grocery shopping). I think I visited at least 8 stores. What's even more fun is I donated a trash bag of clothes that are too big. When I looked at them, I could not help but shake my head in wonder and amazement. When I tried on the new tops (in the new size), I about started crying. I couldn't believe the difference. No longer do I cringe in front of a mirror! I still need to lose about as much more as I've lost, but I'm past the halfway point, at least. emoticon

I praise you God for helping my feet to feel better today!!! Thank you soooo much God for your love, care & protection!

I have something called Neuropathy, which is a very painful nerve condition. At times it feels like there are 1,000 bees stinging me or that I am standing on 1,000 needles. I do not have ,
diabeties, but it is hereditary in my family. I have to iesxercise to maintain my weight, & when I need to lose weight. It is God who helps me exercise even when I am in pain. It is God who has helped me find ways to exercise even with this condition. I praise God because by having this added challenge I still have been able to meet my gaols! God is good even when you suffer!!!

I praise Him for a fairly easy day at work. I'm also grateful for a safe trip home. We've had a lot of rain, and water was pooling on the road. I was a little nervous about possible hydroplaning on the road. Thankfully I didn't. I was even able to get a short nap. emoticon

Wonderful Glittergirl! emoticon I can't wait to be under 200 pounds. It should just be 3 weeks at most until I'm down below that. This is hard work, huh? emoticon

I'm thankful to even have my blood pressure down, even with a reduction in dosage of medicine. That was one of my motivators for starting this in the first place -- to get off of some of the meds I'm taking. Of course I'll make sure it's really time to go off before I do.

My family practitioner told me that my size last summer made my health "scary." She said I'm looking at some changes in meds -- at least in dosage. I was so close to being diabetic then. I had even already lost 17 of the 61 I've lost. She is very impressed with SP.

Anita, a friend of ours (in person and here on SP) started just walking 500 feet per day. Now he runs everyday, and he has run in many races, including a full marathon! You'll be surprised how quickly you'll progress with your exercise. Something is better than nothing! I'm not suggesting you should aim for a marathon, but you'll find you can increase your activity sooner than you think. When I first started this last summer, I would walk to the end of the block and back. Since the walking aggravated a problem in my foot, I started using the exercise bike because it's non-impact, but it's still aerobic. I started out with 10 minutes a day. Now I ride a minimum of 20 minutes (if I don't walk). Earlier this month, I walked 2 miles in one day. emoticon

Blessed Assurance is one of my favorite songs too. Hello everyone. I'm here for my health and need lots of support to do what I have to do to lose weight and get stronger. I am 74 years old and I am 5 ft. and weigh 170 lbs. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis and am in pain most of the time which makes it hard to exercise and I am getting weaker by the day. Currently I am trying to get out and walk about 10 minutes 2 or3 times a week. I take my cellphone with me in case I fall. Looking forward to hearing from you. Anita emoticon

oops I weigh 208 lbs. I don't know how I made the mistake of saying 170 lbs. wishful thinking I guess

Procedure went well. I had one fun time when they tried to put the IV in. I never do well with that, but it was especially difficult due to being a bit dehydrated from the prep. The good news is: no polyps, therefore, no biopsy, no Crohns, no diverticulitis! He said I do have a bad case of IBS for which he gave me a prescription. I don't need to go through this again for at least 5 years!!! emoticon Thank you for all your prayers. By the way, after the dr. was finished he started singing one of my favorite hyms: Blessed Assurancce. I told him to keep singing! emoticon

I went to see the gastroenterologist today, and he called my insurance company. I'm going to have a colonoscopy soon. They told him it's covered 100%! Please pray for good results! I hope it won't be too serious, but I also hope they can find out what's going on and it will be treatable with medication and/or diet. That, I can live with.

Our niece is doing better. She is eating well, and they took the lights off from above her. She just had one light underneath her bed. My mother-in-law was able to feed her yesterday. That is a dream come true for her because she was near death last July. Our family has experienced more than one miracle.

God is good. All the time.

I'm so happy to hear your dad is getting off bp medicine. I'm looking at that myself in the very near future.

Yes, the devil uses people to derail God's work and be an enemy to others. It is sad, though, when people who call themselves Christians allow themselves to be used by Satan instead of God.

emoticon to your furnace still working!

Yes, it can be difficult to still pray for those that treat us or those we love bad. But we have to remember it is not them but spiritual wickedness trying to use them to derail our mission for the Lord and that is why it is crucial to pray against powers and principalities that try to attack us.

As Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) reminds us "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

My praise note for today goes for my father being cleared to get off the high blood pressure medicine and through the grace of God being restored back to a healthy blood pressure range.

GlitterGirl, it's sad that we have to encounter nasty people at church, of all places. If more people would follow your example, we wouldn't have some of the problems we have in our churches. A dear friend, who's now passed on, explained why we should pray for people who hurt us. She said it may/ may not change the other person, but it will change how we feel about the other person and the situation.
