Hey all, I am currently beginning a running routine. Not quite couch to 5k just brisk walking and jogging and I must say it feels good! Before I started I couldn't run one side of the block now I can run down the street and around the lake YAY! I am basically just judging by how much further I can get each time, if I can't get further I don't I am taking it slow but it is definitely paying off!

Hello Villagers :D

Just wondererd how many of us have joined the SP September Walk/Run challenge of the month. It was going to be October, but it's been changed back to September. EXERTIGER - Just do it. My thoughts on a respectable time is to give 100% and know that you gave it all that you have. If that means a slow pace so be it. Finishing the race is the most important part. Each training interval and race is a building block to a new personal milestone, and a reason to celebrate regardless of time. You can do it!!

Week 3 done! I did end up doing one of my workouts outside this week. It went well - I felt like it was a bit more challenging then just running on the treadmill. The pup enjoyed it too! I might try to do this every week at least once.

I sold my treadmill a while back and am doing my runs outside. I feel like it is a bit more challenging outdoors. I guess I don't have that constant forward momentum and therefore have to create it for myself.

Two runs into Week 3 and the 3 minute intervals are do-able. Looking orward to the increased challenges ahead! And with a minor adjustment to my caloric intake, TA DA, I am sitting on 150 today. I will be heading out of town very shortly indeed!

Boy, Day 3 of Week 2 threw formidable things at me. See my blog Fischers and Deer flies and cars...Oh My! There were also two hills, in the running intervals, no less. I powered up them. Twenty years ago I trained for and completed a marathon (20 years ago...feels like yesterday...makes me think I am old!) and was taught to power up the hills, really push, so I do. So, Monday launches Week 3...3 minutes straight of running...might hurt...but a good hurt. And yes, I am so running out of 150-ville.

Boy have I fallen behind on this thread... sorry guys. I finished W1 this week, behind schedule! Will be starting W2 and can't wait for that Drivers Ed to be over... three more days YAY!!

I am on Week 2 and today will be Day 3!!! I am entering Week 3 next week. I love this beginners running program. Just the right amount of challenge yet do-able. I can also taste the exit ramp of the 150's. i hav been stalled at 153 for a couple of weeks. Dipped to 152 yesterday, so am applying myslef BIG TIME now...

Thanks Exertiger, I'm going to look for that band. I've taken a few days off and will probably go back a couple of weeks in my training when I restart. It is feeling much better now and was able to use elliptical this morning.

W1D2 done, but on the treadmill again, it was pouring and is SO humid and muggy here I could hardly breathe. But it's done and over with, and tomorrow is a much better day. (I hope lol!)

So I sucked it up... completed the W1D1. Much better for me this time around... I did walks at 4 mph and runs at 6mph(up from 5.3 when I graduated the first training). I'm surprised that just a couple weeks without running has such an effect on your breathing... It did feel GREAT!!

Well, my plan of starting Monday went right out the window compliments of the wonderful Michigan weather. It's rained, and thunderstormed here for the past 4 days. Looks like I'm heading to the treadmill to start as the forecast calls for the same crappy weather through the weekend. Where is summer by the way?!!? I'll be doing a couple back to backs to get caught up so I don't totally blow the plan!

Trust me when I say you WILL be able to do it... I completed the program once! I had all the same fears, but you will be amazed by your strength. It truely is more MENTAL than PHYSICAL... go in to each run with the mentality that it' going to be the best run ever. Best of luck everyone!

I thought it would be great to have a place to share our experiences with the training...

I completed C25K training last Monday, and have decided to give it another go... taking it to the streets this time rather than the tread. I know there are members who are progressing through the training, some that are just starting, and maybe, just maybe others who want to join in.

So let's get going... the road to 140-ville it just 3.1 miles down the road!!!
