Workouts have been a bit of an issue for me too, especially with the travel restrictions, basically any non-essential travel shouldn't be done at this point, so I'm just staying home a lot and try to get my steps in at work instead..

But I do have the cure for dark, cloudy, ghostly weather!

This is a new kind of project I've been working on for a while, a second video to accompany my hiking video that I released a month ago, I'm calling this project "Scenic Views" as that's pretty much what it is! No hiking across the screen, but a collection of extended (static) shots along with the sounds of the area that I visited.

Curious? You can check out the video here:
For those that have watched my regular content, I'm curious to know what you think of this different kind of video.

Hey Desert! Seems like posts just seem to disappear around here! Not sure if the ghosts emoticon and goblins emoticon have anything to do with it...

I've been having a tough time here lately getting my workouts in, so I'm going to pledge 3 workouts this next week, and I WILL make it to the new CrossFit gym at least once! Work's been crazy...but I still should be able to get in a workout, I just need to make it a priority.

Also, the weather has turned....we have dark, cloudy skies today, blustery winds, and a general chill in the air...

Managed a few walks recently. Going to Berlin tomorrow to meet Finley Byron Charles Kahl Ferguson. Woo hoo!

But may be MIA due to that.

Mimosas to celebrate? Not the MIA, but meeting up with my newest grandchild.

Lots of grandbabies there! How wonderful!

I'm not sure how long the recovery will be, but the splint is on for at least 2 weeks, no weight on the ankle during that time. Then he'll see the doctor (or the doctor's assistant) and we'll get the next phase of instructions.

I'm also not sure when we'll be able to ski, but we did get season passes for this year. They stopped selling them after we got ours to keep the numbers down, so that's a bonus, at least with the XC skiing it's pretty easy to physically distance! We don't see all that many people on the trails, especially the farther out from the lodge we get. And also we'll have to wait for the snow to arrive! I think last year we got that late November, but that was pretty early for the season to start.

Thanks Kay, I've got 4, my eldest boy has two girls, and my second, a girl, the new mama, has two boys. Jacques has four granddaughters, each of his daughters has two. I see more of them than I do my blood grandchildren.

Hugs to Larry. When will be be active again? Skiing on hold?

Keep inside and keep safe.

Breakfast is pancakes this morning, Scottish pancakes.

Everyone welcome to share them

Congratulations Kelpie! How many grandbabies do you have now? What a wonderful blessing in your (and your children's) life! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

We have a bit of smoke today, it's in the "unhealthy" range, so I will shorten any outdoor activity I end up doing today. And I have a patient, Larry is day 2 postop from an ankle replacement. He's doing pretty well, resting more today than yesterday, the pain came on last night pretty strong, I'm guessing that's when the block the anesthesiologist put in wore off.

Hope you all have a pleasant day, and stay safe!

thanks for the porridge! I'm looking for some good breakfast ideas, as I need to fill up my freezer with portable breakfasts! Maybe something with applesauce as an ingredient, as I made a bunch with some apples from the neighbor's tree!

I went for a walk/jog yesterday after work, the air was not bad, not sure what today brings, as there are a couple of new fires to the west.

Desert, that's too bad about the second wave, but at least your area is taking it seriously! Kelpie, hope the toe is better soon!

Desert, I'm pleased to see you back too. even if I am sometimes conspicuous by my absence!

Glad the air is getting better a bit for you ladies.

It has turned terribly cold here, and I'm waiting for the sniffles from the kids......

I have to open the windows and disinfect all the desks between classes. So I'm dressing warmly.

Hopefully the rain will be off long enough for a walk this evening. The dratted toe is getting better, but getting it into walking shoes is a tad problematic. I've older trainers that are wider, so I'll try them

Breakfast this morning something warming. Porridge anyone?

And coffee, lots of coffee

Ouch.. At least you managed to save dinner!

I got my trip in just in time it seems, the Dutch government just put new national travel restrictions into place as we're in the second wave of the outbreak. It doesn't seem like I'll be going on a new trip into nature any time soon.

The smoke came back a little yesterday, but then this morning we have healthy air again! I did get out walking both days, today was more pleasant though!

I have a sheetpan dinner in the oven and when I went to check on it, the oven was off! emoticon I must have turned it off...not sure how or when or why...sometimes I feel like my brain has just stopped working! But it's back on now, so it will be a little longer to dinner than I was expecting.

We've got the dreaded "second wave" going on as well, and an increasing amount of fools who think they know better than to listen to measures that are being taken to contain the issue. but I guess some other parts of the world do have it worse, that seems for sure.

Rain has started here as well, it's nice to be out of the heat!

I'm making two different videos out of my trip to the Kampina, one just released and I'm releasing the other one in 2-3 weeks.

Ahhhh, relief! Welcome the rain, I would like that here too, but I don't think it's coming.

But another day with "healthy" air! emoticon I really hope that means they are getting the fires under control...

Desert! Great to see you back on deck! Sorry you have not been able to get out this summer, it's such strange circumstances...but I think your area is handling the COVID crisis better than much of the US. Sad to say, we lack a central plan, and have to take individual action as best we can. Your pictures are beautiful!

I took a short walk yesterday in the clear air, hope to go out longer today! emoticon

When your air quality was previously rated "hazardous", then anything else will be "improved quality" after that point. Be careful out there!

I haven't really done the outdoors thing in several months now, with COVID messing things up, then a heatwave during my summer holiday, I just didn't get to go out much.

Though I did finally go on another trip two days ago, a very much needed one.
I went on a hike to the Kampina, a series of near desert-like plains, forests, and meres.
It felt good to be outside again!

We are in the green (good) for air quality today! Kind of a surprise as we were predicted yellow...(as we've been the past few days). At least we're out of the orange/red/purple zones!

Hobbes, hope you are seeing better air as well?

Hobbes, glad things have been a bit better. And Kay, that you've been able to get out a bit.

I'm back at work, and the beginning of term is always hectic. new head, new rules, with COVID, etc.

So a stroll up to Ben Frien wouldn't go amiss.

Anyone care to join me?

We've had the unhealthy air, but have not experienced the ash, I'm grateful for that! Sorry you have to deal with it though.

I've been out walking the past few days, will be able to get out again today, not sure about tomorrow, the forecast on the air quality website says it's supposed to be worse tomorrow.

As I posted yesterday it was my very first day to be able to go outside and walk after the onset of wildfires very close to where I live. Oregon ranks air quality as good, moderate, unhealthy for sensitive groups, unhealthy, very unhealthy, or hazardous. Where I live hit or even exceeded the hazardous range for seven of the past 10 days, according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency monitoring data. Even though air quality has improved we are being cautious, staying mostly indoors, and taking extra precautions. Today I have the windows open and am attempting to clear out our indoor environment. Everything is covered with a thin layer of dust (ash) inside on EVERYTHING. Some of this years sunflowers manage to still bring people a bit of joy as they walk past my house after being covered over in ash, they have been cleaned by a couple of lucky rain storms.

Yep, here too! I skipped the burpees and hit the trail instead, the smoke was pretty cleared out, and even better today!

I went and picked some apples off the neighbors tree (with permission!) and have some applesauce simmering on the stove, so I'll need to wait until it's done to get out on the trail today.

Larry has taken off on his bike, taking advantage of the better air!

We are still smoked out, so I've been going in to the gym at my work, at least I'm getting something done, and boy do I feel it! So sore this week...Today's fitness fun is 100 (or 200) burpee broad jumps...I'm opting for the scaled version, 100, we'll see if I can do it!

Morning all.

I don't usually work on a Friday, and Jacques really needs some away time, so we are getting into the van and heading off to the beach at Sete when I finish work tonight. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%A

He has friends/ex students who are in the sea food business down there, I'm looking forward to that! As the holiday season is over I do hope that people are keeping to the social distancing rules. It's not that far from Marseille, which whilst not yet on a local lockdown, has an upsurge in cases.

Anyone want to join me for some fun in the water? I'm sure we have a salt water beach not to far away.

And breakfast is a tarte tropezinne, from St Tropez, no less www.latartetropezienne.fr/en

I went from a Charge2 to a Charge4 recently, and I had to boot up the online manual before I figured it out! But I really enjoy it now...the swiping is different than the 2, but I'm used to it now, finally!

Sure, yoga by the pool sounds delightful! And I love that the deck is smoke free! The sounds of the waterfall make the yoga so peaceful... emoticon

Yesterday's post didn't, if you see what I mean!

I'm so lucky that I am able to go out when I want. Trying to make sure I start the day with yoga, and even if I'm walking a fair bit at work, doing my best to add in some dedicated walking, if you know what I mean. The yoga has really brought my lack of flexibility into focus, and at my age I need to slow down decline.......

After my last fitbit post, mine broke! The face went black. I got it half back, but could only read it at night. I contacted the support team, and to my surprise and pleasure, it was still under warranty, two years next month I think. I was given the option of a replacement Charge3, or half-price something else. I took a charge4. So I'm on a learning curve at the moment.

So anyone fancy setting up our yoga mats near the pool, listening to the waterfall? emoticon I'm heading over there now.......

Yes, indoor workouts will be necessary with the amount of smoke and hazardous air quality. I did venture out yesterday afternoon (still bad air, but not as bad a Sunday), for a shorter walk.

I have boxes to move around at work, so that might be today's workout!

Stay safe everyone!

Good idea... I have been stretching... tried to work out in the basement in an attempt to get away from the smoke and ash in the air. It was not possible. Your ideas are better. I will not attempt too many cardio things during this big fire. We now even have two big fires with a possibility of them meeting to make even a larger fire.. which seems unbelievable... the Beachie Creek fire at 186,988 acres in Marion County Oregon has been moving toward the Riverside fire at 133,509 acres in Clackamas County. The Beachie Fire is now 15 miles from my home. emoticon Soooooooooooooooooooooo Hoping for rain emoticon

Very weird....

Today's WOD is 30 rounds of 4 pushups and 5 situps! I can do this at home, so that is my goal for today! emoticon emoticon

I went out yesterday evening for my walk, it didn't seem so bad, but today is awful air quality, so I did my walking inside, up and down the stairs...boring but at least the air is safer.

Thanks for the coffee and croissants, Kelpie! Straight from France! emoticon I hope your toe gets better soon, and you can get our for a more comfortable walk!

For those of you living it, I simply can't imagine the additional stress that these fires are adding to your lives.

I'm back in France, about to go out for a walk, not too far, cos of my blessed toe!

Then back to work tomorrow.

Coffee and croissants for breakfast today, should anyone want to join me.

Have the best Sunday you can, and stay safe

Oh no, Hobbes! That is such a tragedy, your poor friends! Stay safe, and I hope it turns out they are right about your not having to evacuate, but good to be prepared, just in case! emoticon

The "fire" we saw the other night may have been an optical illusion, as I went walking over to that area yesterday, and it was not burned...so either it was an illusion that looked like a glowing fire on the ridge, or the fire was much farther away than it looked...and we are back in the thick of the smoke, worse than it's been in a while. I probably won't be able to walk outside today either...will have to be creative to get in my steps, if I do!

Dear Team... VERY near to my home in Oregon is on fire. Three of my friends have lost their houses down to the ground already and not a timber left standing. What a time this has been. They are saying that the current 15 mile distance from the fire from the city limits, and the topography between the fire and here, reduces the likelihood the fire will lead to calls for evacuation in our community. Albeit my families bags and car are packed. There is significantly less smoke and ash today. I’ve opened all the curtains and turned on a lot of lights in the house. My mind wants light! It is our first day to not live in perpetual dim orange light and I crave more. Today feels like a relief (like something lifted). I am missing my long walks but the air quality is too poor. Will keep you posted. emoticon ENUF fire already... come on rain.

That millionaire's shortbread sounds divine! What a treat!

Kind of scary night, as I was going to bed we could see a glow of fire over the ridge! Fortunately for us the wind was in the opposite direction, and it seemed to be OK after a while, but scary for sure! And this morning the oppressive smoke is back... emoticon

Hope you all stay safe and sane on this day of remembrance and service...

I'll take a hot tub soak with you Kelpie, especially with the Berlin coffee and pastries!

folks here put stuff out on the curb as well, the other day I saw a child's bookshelf/desk, and a tiny chair! Not stuff we need, but it's not there anymore, so I hope it found a good home!

I've been enjoying the walks the past couple of days, thanks to an easterly wind it's cleared up the air here, I don't think the folks west of us (California) are so fortunate, but I'll enjoy it while I can!

Glad you had a good walk and blue skies Kay.

Hobbes, I'm with Kay on this one. Ash just gets everywhere. Hope it ends soon.

I stubbed my toe on the baby buggy yesterday and I rather suspect I have broken it. I was wearing open sandals. Shoes are going to be problematic. As for hiking....... Fingers crossed, but understandably not toes.

Berlin is surprising on many ways. It's 9 times the size of Paris, for example. And as well as the green spaces there are the most amazing children's playparks all over ye place.

Since my daughter and familyis moving, they are participating in a Berlin tradition of giveaway. Things you don't want but are still useful you put in a box on the pavement (sidewalk) and people just help themselves. And it can be furniture too. I was amazed to see a stack of vinyl records the other day.

I'm sure a soak in our virtual hot tub will do me and my toe a world of good. Anyone care to join me? There's the most delicious coffee.....Berlin has amazing coffee shops...... And some pastries.

Have a great day everyone

I can report that the "loaded potato salad" was quite tasty! I don't think anyone suspected Greek yogurt in the mix, what with all the other tastes!

We finally had blue skies and cooler temps yesterday, I took full advantage after work and went for a longer walk.

Hobbes, I hope your skies clear soon! The smoke here has been so depressing...and we haven't had the ash to deal with. Yuck!

Kelpie, Berlin sounds nice, I wouldn't have thought they would have the green spaces, it sounds lovely!

Way behnd again! I'll just jump in.

I'm still in Berlin. My grandson has had a couple of off days, vaccinations, starting nursery, packing up, and that means his parents have had a couple of off days and nights. So I changed my travel plans to stay and give a bit more of a hand.

So not a lot of hiking at the moment.

Having said that Berlin has an amazing number of parks and green spaces, and I am looking forward to coming back when I'm not helping with a house move, and making sure my daughter gets enough rest.

It'll be a big tight for going back to work next week, but I'll manage it!

And when I get home in the evening, walking shoes on, and up the road I will go!

Hobbes, how horrible for you. I do hope it gets better soon. My fitbit is a great tool too. I went from aa Charge 1 to a 3. I must admit the 4 wth the GPS is tempting, but I'll wait until this one breaks. There might be a 5 by then.

Kay, that sounds delicious. And I'm glad not a serious hurt. Mum is a bit of a technophobe, but is coming round to the idea of a tablet with help from her carers to video call.

Mommy, thanks for the hug. And Kay you too.

Dan, how are you? And Darius, and Maui, and everyyone else.

Enjoy your day the best you can

Hope you got some rest Hobbes!

We're having a celebration at work for a gal that's retiring on Friday...one day I will get there as well! I made a "loaded potato salad" that I still have to put together, potatoes, homemade ranch dressing (with Greek yogurt, since I couldn't find mayo at TJ's and forgot the sour cream!) cheddar, bacon, green onions. It should be good!

Oh my heavens KAYOTIC,
For sure,
Soooo glad that you are ok...
I fell a couple years ago and very unexpectedly and broke my arm. It was a terrible life changing event.

Thanx for letting me know about your Fitbit. I really am enjoying my Flex. If it ever dies permanent I guess I will be forced to get a new one but am way happy for now.

I was just dragging today. I did not sleep much last night. Only got a mile in today. . .
emoticon emoticon I WILL go to bed early tonight and recuperate.

Have a restful night everyone.

I have a Charge4 (just recently purchased, I was using a Charge2 previously). I like the 4, it's a little different to get used to, but has GPS, so the tracking seems more accurate, and I like looking at the maps when I get home!

I took a tumble yesterday on my walk...just got distracted, and stepped into a culvert instead of the little bridge that crosses it, my arm is a bit scraped up, and I have a nice bruise on my palm, but probably a bigger bruise on my ego! I feel lucky it wasn't worse...good thing I wasn't hiking on a cliff!

That's a lot of miles, Hobbes! Good for you!

Hope all the OP are having a great weekend! We are still experiencing smoke filled skies off and on...it makes it tricky to get out and exercise, but I've been managing my walking. I did skip the CrossFit on Friday, since they moved gyms and were doing the WOD in the parking lot. I didn't think the air quality was good enough for that. I'm hoping I can get over there this coming week though!

Yes, Kelpie...

Thinking of you and so many others that cannot be with their elderly family members or visit people in hospital at this time. That is a very difficult thing.

Since I found my old Fitbit flex in the basement I have been walking every day.

My goal this week was to walk 30 miles.

Unfortunately I did not quite make it but I am proud of my progress.
My total this week
26.5 miles

I feel like I am getting stronger emoticon

emoticon emoticon Kelpie, that must be tough not being able to comfort your mom now, so many stories like this all over, I'm glad you can find some things to look forward to, and that you can help your daughter! I'm sure your mum would appreciate that too! Can you video conference with her at all?

Hobbes! Nice pics from your walk! I'm happy to hear your fitbit is motivating you to move and that you were able to sync it! I only sync the fitness minutes. I think back when I was tracking the Spark food log would move over to fitbit. I'm not sure if it worked both ways!

We are back from Mammoth Lakes, short trip to try to get out of the dense smoke, and to celebrate Larry's birthday! We got a condo, and aside from one dinner out (long wait for the social distancing/outdoor seating) we prepared our own meals in the condo.

I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Today is one year since my dad died. I should have been in Edinburgh with my mum, but because of quarantine, I haven't been able to go. If someone from France were there the carers wouldn't come to my mum.

However, I'm going to Berlin, to help my daughter. She's on bed rest, about to move home, and Alfie is about to start nursery. I can help pack, unpack, and have some quality time with my daughter, sil, and grandson.

So one way to look at it is that I'm lucky to be looking forward to so many good things, even if looking back is normal on an anniversary like today.

Don't think Ill get much hiking in though!

This is a highlight of tonights walk. . . emoticon . .. . emoticon . . .. emoticon

A wonderful little bridge through a quaint neighborhood.

The creek that runs under the little bridge.

A kitty cat friend.

This was the longest walk I have been on for a very long time. I had a lot of energy today and felt good. My Fitbit Motivator is working and I am pretty happy about it. I did not quite get done with my basement decluttering goal but I have made a huge dent and am also pleased with that progress. It has been a Good week for Hobbes emoticon

I finally got my Fitbit to sync with SP but still have some things to figure out. e.g. not everything populated in SP. my fitness activity although does which I am pleased about. It’s a learning curve. I really am enjoying my Fitbit. Thanx for your input.

I linked Spark and Fitbit...maybe there is a help thread out there for how to link them? I don't use the spark app, but it should be able to link somehow?

It's very smoky here, unfortunately. We're supposed to go away for the weekend for Larry's birthday, but not sure where we can escape to that is not smoke filled...

Right now I am a full time caregiver for my 95 year old Dad. I miss hiking...

Today I have the Fitbit blues. I accidentally came across my old Fitbit. Finally got it to sync with my iPhone but it will not do the same with the spark people app. Anyhow, I’m pretty frustrated.

Sorry to have missed the cinnamon roles and coffee on the deck again. Darn it.

KAYOTIC,

I eat them cooked, much like string beans. My favorite way is to lightly fry them with salt, butter and garlic. The pods are edible at any stage But unless they are very, very young must be eaten cooked. The beans I posted are for next years planting and to share with friends. I have not tried it yet but apparently instead of garbanzo beans you can cook the beans and prepare them like you would for making hummus.

We hiked with some friends and their dog today, a little over 7 miles, and what a beautiful place! Ellis Peak, and a side trip to Ellis Lake, just west of Lake Tahoe. Gorgeous views of the Lake (Tahoe, that is) and the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Well these are probably not great times for traveling...I feel like we were pretty safe the way we did it, we drove, brought a bunch of masks, hand sanitizer, wipes...didn't really do much "out" aside from the hiking and biking!

It's nice that you can help out your neighbors and friends! We all need each other more and more!

emoticon I sure am enjoying all the pictures that you took on your trip KAY, it doesnt look like I will be going anywhere this year.
I have been enjoying doing projects close by for neighbors and friends, along with working in my forest.

Coffee or Bloody Marys and fresh huckleberries are on the DECK this morning.

Enjoy

We are supposed to wear masks going in and out of the gym, not sure about while exercising, I've heard different things. I'll head to CrossFit tonight, we each have our own square to work out in, and don't need the mask for that.

Hobbes, emoticon not sure where you are struggling? Food, workouts, a little of both? It's hard right now, so don't be too hard on yourself, but also, maybe look to where you can make some easy changes and get a win under your belt! At least you're still Sparking!

Darius, that a lot of canning! Good for you! You must have quite a nice garden!

here is another pic from our vacation:

this is Mc Leod lake near Mammoth, we hiked all the way around, then over to another trail, there were lots of people hanging out at this one!

Hello!
Hope all are well.
It is canning season; very busy :)
80 quarts peaches 5 batches of jam (strawberry and peach)
Corn and
Green beans lol
Also tried to make dill havarty cheese. Will see in a few days how we did.

Next week is:
Mead and chow chow as long as I can get the ingredients together.

Been to the gym everyday and riding the horses. Not much hiking yet.
We now have to wear masks to walk into the gym but are allowed to remove while exercising. So have to wear it for about 30 seconds lol

Time for coffee and peaches with cream!

Yes, but so pretty, and the blue water/skies are so gorgeous!

Here is another from the trip:

this was on a bike ride, they have a nice paved trail all over town that also leads to the mountain bike park (we did not ride there, as there is a fee) and some other dirt trails.

I'll try to post some pictures and a blog (maybe this weekend?) from the trip, it was fun, I haven't had a chance to check the pictures yet, but I'm sure we got some worth posting! We did 4 or 5 really nice hikes, some mountain biking, and even a climb (top rope), so it was quite active.

We also had one night where we had all-you-can-eat wood fired pizza! Made me think of you, Dan! emoticon So delicious!

Kay Id love to hear about your trip that you took.

The senior meal site in the small town that we live by opened back up since it closed in April.
Only about a 1/4 of the people are showing up and most of the ones coming are in there 80s or 90s. Yesterday they gave away lentils, split peas and dried beans.

The coffee and fresh straw berries are on the DECK, Im Gona set in the old rocker and pick a few tunes.

Enjoy

Worked in the garden and took two shorter walks today. Ate although about 600 fat calories...Good grief... Made 6 loaves of zucchini bread today. Hot zucchini bread with lots of butter and a glass of milk was dinner tonight. Tomorrow. Can NOT be a repeat of that. Oh dear. But boy was it good. I CAN and WILL have self control although I did not today. emoticon

The 4th was pretty quiet here, I heard no fireworks, I dont know if Mammoth had a show or not, in any case we were in bed by 9, as is our usual. Hope things have calmed down for you Hobbes!

Dan, the pizza sounds wonderful!

We went out on a 16 + mile hike yesterday, it was really beautiful, we hiked to thousand island lake on the PCT. Saw a few backpackers and other hikers, but not much wildlife, I guess they are all hiding away for now!

The taverns are fair full of gadabouts making merry this eve. And though I may press my face against the window like an urchin at a confectioners I am tempted not by the sweetmeats within. A dram in exchange for the pox is an ill bargain indeed.

DUTCHOVENDAN,

Your pizza emoticon Sounds amazing and so do the huckleberries. Lucky you to live somewhere more remote in these times. I am envious.

I actually live in a place that is quite beautiful e.g. driving distance to mountains, ocean, lakes, and rivers to escape. Unfortunately although we live in the very heart of a fairly large city. I feel lucky as my son came home from collage and we can hunker down together to try and get through this while simultaneously protecting my 95 year old Dad. It is going to be an interesting Fall and Winter I have a feeling. Trying not to be overreactive but still preparing for things to get pretty bad. I have been collecting, camping fuel, water, food that can be easily fixed just incase the world goes nuts for awhile. I have solar lights, and solar battery chargers. I do not trust these times.

Convinced my son to go on a walk with me this evening while my elderly Dad slept. We walked 2.4 miles. The intermittent fireworks going off relatively close to us made me feel a bit unsafe and startled me.

I am actually like a dog and truly loathe the 4rth of July. I can not wait until it is over.

Social distancing in my life has not been any different than it has been for the last few years. Where I live in N. Idaho I hear a few people in the larger towns have gotten sick over the last several months but nothing locally.

Ive been keeping our wood fired oven warm the last couple of months so Im cooking my favorite pizza tomorrow, mustard sauce, Swiss, onions sauerkraut and some homemade sausages. Time to look fer some huckleberries soon.

We're still in squares, and now have to wear facemasks while inside the gym, but apparently we can take them off in the square for the actual workout. I haven't been since the facemask edict went out, as we are supposed to be on vacation! We're going to leave tomorrow for Mammoth Lakes, since our Glacier trip was cancelled....it's good to be flexible!

Good Morning,
Our gym started out with squares on the floor and that was your space. Classes were reduced so no sharing of equipment necessary. Now it is at full capacity, no squares and all back to before the shut down. Everyone is much more diligent about cleaning up after themselves though which is good.
I did not do many of the home wods since I need a translator for the acronyms they use. My old brain just doesnt want to remember lol. It was surprisingly easier than I expected to get back.

My favorite hiking leaders havent been planning any hikes so Im just walking the neighborhoods around me. No into the woods for me yet. Maybe in the fall. It is usually less active in the heat of the summer here anyway.

Grand is sleeping in this morning. Extra time for morning coffee ☕️

What a nice walk, Hobbes! Are you using a kettlebell at home then too? I have a 15 pounder, I would like a 26, but now that my gym is back open, I can use the barbells and that makes me happy! I'm not sure how it's going to go now, though since our governor has mandated masks indoors in public places, we'll have to see how working out in a mask works! So far we have just been distancing, we have squares we stay in to work out that are space out, so the distancing has been pretty good.

Darius, how is your CF handling it? Were you doing any home WODs during the shutdown? I did 2 sometimes 3 a week, as I could.

Our Glacier trip is cancelled, we are going with plan C (or maybe it's plan D by now?) and heading to Mammoth Lakes. I guess I feel pretty fortunate to live so close to such a beautiful area! Hopefully we'll get to Glacier someday, once the pandemic is under control, and such things can happen again!

Good Morning!
We have had one of the best spring seasons ever for our area; enough rain but not too much, which means lower humidity, moderate temperatures for our area and I love it :)
The grand is older and can now ride on the trail being led on his pony like a pack horse behind my horse. We still dont get too far but it is a start.

The CrossFit gym has been open for over a month I am so glad to be back. The first week I was very sore, but thankfully that has passed.

Have to catch up here, guess its time to sit down with some coffee and read. :)

I was able to get away today and I

Walked 1.9 miles today around my neighborhood. I brought some books for donation to a neighborhood free library. Do you have those where you live I wonder. It is one of the perks for walking.

Another perk is seeing unusual flowers... this is a Passion Flower

Today I saw a swarm of bees, a cat and this girl who hopped up on the fense to take a better look at me. What a sweetheart. I Love chickens.
