We are now 54 days away from the event and I will make a suggestion to meet.

From reading all the posts, we will be spread all over town, and trying to find one another on race day will be nearly impossible. I am not so sure a party will be feasible either.

However, we all have to pick up our package at some point. I think a good time to meet might be at noon on Saturday at the entrance to the Armory - that way the early birds can plan to pick up their package during the morning hours and the late risers can sleep in and have a leisurely breakfast.

For people not familiar with DC - I believe there is a metro stop at the Armory

How is that for a plan?

LadyGwen25 and I will be down Friday night and leaving Sunday after the race and eats. I'd love to meet up, earlier is probably better. We'll both have family with us and I think might try to do a little sight-seeing Saturday after we go to the expo.

First, I think we have plenty of time to come up with a plan for getting together. However, I think people are scattered throughout the area, and when we are done I have a feeling people want to head to the hotel, clean up and go home (unless you are leaving monday).

I also sense from reading the posts that people have different plans for dinner the night before. So, here is a couple of ideas....

a. meet in front of the Armory on Sat morning at 9 am when package pick up starts - and decide if we want to have lunch together - we can disburse and then meet.

-or-

b. Meet at noon - 12:30 the same place and go to lunch somewhere (local participants may need to help us). That way the early risers can get their package early and the people who want to get the package in the pm - get it in the pm.

just a couple of ideas.

Let's give this some thought and then brainstorm an idea of getting together. There are a lot of great places in the Rosslyn ... Clarendon ... Courthouse corridor that would be great for a get-together.

I'd like to meet up with everyone, but would miss the dinner as I'll be going to the Marathon Maniac dinner so if there are plans for additional meet ups like at the expo, please let me know!! I know we are flying in Friday and leaving Monday.

You guys are priceless ... I have a great recipe that includes chocolate, vodka and gold!

Would be a great opportunity to meet ... I would include friends and family in the mix! And, for out of towners, there are some great spots in Clarendon just up the street from Rosslyn.

We can just make the whole weekend one big party with Spark's Shots. I should make up a new drink.
