DJ what size should I buy a kids hoop to practice off body moves? My adult beginner hoop sometimes feels too big (or my arms too short, but I can't change them :p)

Btw If you are wanting to do a lot of off body tricks while learning to waist hoop, you can buy a large kids hoop (NOT the kind that is water filled, but the super cheap ones) to practice and learn the off body moves. Then get a good adult beginner hoop for waist hooping.(see post below). Happy hooping.

Yes, there are soooo many you tube tutorials as well as just examples of dance. Some are just so beautiful. Dancing with your hoop is really relaxing and fun. There are many good vendors out there. I got my first one from Canyonhoops.com.

It is perfect for starting out because it is adjustable. 40 inches for learning new tricks and then 36 when you have them down pat. It made all the difference for me. I still use it a lot. I also have two polypros that I got from Hoopologie.com. I would not recommend the polypro for a beginner because they are very light, but great for once you have been hooping for a while and really love off body moves.

Some people say etsy has some good ones. I haven't tried those, but the companies that I have mentioned are really good and well worth the price. Another company I would feel good about ordering from and love watching her tutorials/hooping is Michelle McCoy at Autumnflow.com. I feel like she would have good hoops, but I haven't ordered from her.

I really love the adjustable one from Canyonhoops that I listed above. A good way to save up for it, is to set a goal and deadline. Then set aside a small amount of money each week and then reward yourself when the deadline comes. Just be sure your goal is not set at perfection. That only causes failure. If I am really wanting to exercise 5 days a week then my goal would be set at 3 or 4 days depending on if I how sure I am of really doing 5 days a week. If you set it at 3 and you do 5, then you can feel like you did a bonus of two days. Remember a healthy lifestyle is 80% mindset and 20% follow through.

Wow, I never knew hula hooping to the extent of some of the u tubes. Thanks so much for telling us about a few utubes about them. They say to start with an adult dance hoop. The one I have is weighted.
Do you know which stores have dance hoops?
