I got it wrong. My husband was 82-83. I don't know what I was remembering. He did not leave at 19. He was reactivated and went on a mission. I will send a goodie with his name just to make sure.

No way! My husband came home in Dec. of 81'. I bet they know each other! I just heard from another team member who has had relates serve there as well. We've been hoping for someone in our family to go there, but so far nowhere close.

When did your husband serve in Norway? That is my husband's mission too. 1981 I think.

It is interesting all the things that we would pick. I wonder how our lives would be different if we could really do this.

I would love to see the world with my house. Somehow today that sounds really fun.

I would like to take the house and visit some of the fun parks in the US. the only time I get out of town is when I go visit my children or go on a plane to a convention for work and then I am too busy to go sight seeing. I want to spend time to see all the places I have been but not seen anything besides a hotel and the conference center. I love to explore new places. emoticon

How far? I'd like to see the rest of the U.S. It would be fun to see the places my family is from. They moved then settled for years then moved again. About every other generation moved somewhere. There are a lot of places to visit. It would be fun to hit one a week and really visit the place.

Well, if its just a day trip, I one day I would float down to Tucson Arizona to see my son, his wife and my two grandchildren. The next day I would float over to Denver to see another son and his wife.

Well if it was just a day trip and I was riding the magic carpet all the time, I think it would be neat to see the RedWood Forests, the Grande Canon, Mount Rushmore, the Grand Ole Opry, Covered Bridges back east, all kinds of places just for a few hours at a time. Lots of fun!

It is strange to think of the possibilities as my children grow. I have to make sure that the last two are not home alone but everyone else is pretty independent. But, my situation is different than most because of the big age spread with the last two. That is Heavenly Father's plan and I guess it makes me feel young most of the time.

So where would you go on a magic carpet?. *Think day trip?

One of the fun things about getting older is that there are a lot of possibilities. While we are often tied to our children and parents and other obligations, we can also just leave for a few days and take off and do something outside out normal box. That is the advantage of having older children or no children at home.

My mom's family always jokes about getting out the magic carpet. I think we could float our houses to where ever we think ist fun and then use the magic carpet for visiting family, temples ect. when bringing the entire house would not be practical. Wouldn't that be fun?

I would love to see the mountains of Italy where my grandparents came from and England. But I would love to live in Halfway, Oregon in the summer, and Hawaii in the winter. The only problem with that plan is Halfway is 3 1/2 hours from the temple.

Fun question - thanks for asking us.

If I could travel any where in the world by floating in my house, so that I didn't have to find money to pay for it, I would like to go:
1- to visit the Church History sites
2- Go to Massachusetts and see the Revolutionary war sites
3- Travel to England, Switzerland and Denmark to see where my ancestors came from
4- Then I think after all of that, I would float back to someplace warm in the winter, cool in the summer and next door to a temple and that is where I would retire.

I love the California coast, especially mid state. I also like the east coast, New England especially. I lived on the Gulf coast for a while also, but didn't like the heat. Would have to be some place that didn't get too cold or snowy, but I'd be anyplace my family is. It doesn't matter. I'm not into exotic or spectacular. I like a quiet life.

I would like to have a place where we could have a few animals, some chickens, a cow or pig or horse. Just a small place with a few tress, some fruit and a garden would be awesome! But when I was a young bride I told myself that I would be happy where ever I am, and so I am!

Someplace warm so there would be no winter cold, but cool so there would be no summer heat.

Someplace quiet so there would be no city traffic, but close to all amenities like doctors, hospitals, specialists, and the like

Do I want too much or what!

P.S. never seen the movie UP so have no idea what it is like.
