I have tried to lose weight so many times and have lost significants amounts a few times. Never committed myself to the thought that I am changing my lifestyle, so I went back to poor eating and exercising ways. And I thought: see....you're right, you are a failure! But a person ...I...can learn from failure and not be a failure. emoticon

This month I got back on track.

Today I will stay on track, even if I have a piece of chocolate!
By tracking my food.
By tracking my exercise.
By tracking my goals.
By tracking my portions.
By tracking my emotions.
By tracking my sleep.
By tracking my SparkPoints.
By tracking my measurements.
By tracking my self talk.
By tracking my nutrition needs.
By tracking my meal planning.
By tracking my achievements.
By tracking my slips.
By tracking my steps.
By tracking my community involvment.
By tracking how others reach their goals.
By tracking my learning articles.
By tracking my self esteem.
By tracking my spirituality.
By tracking my motivation.
By tracking how I lose track.
By tracking how much better I feel about my self and about others when I imperfectly stay on track.

I can not yet claim success on reaching my goals. Yet today I do claim success that I am no longer TRYING to lose weight. am DOING what I want to be living a healthier lifestyle. And my weight is but one measure of achievement.
My success today isn't from TRYING to stay away from fats and carbs, but by DOING a meal plan that allows a healthy nutrition.

I appreciate the structure and the support that SparkPeople offers to me and to anyone who wants to make this change in their lifestyle. I appreciate that SparkPeople lets people try, try and try again until a person can reach their goals. I appreciate that the SparkPeople program is here to help people maintain this healthy lifestyle, too.

  • I have been pretty much in the same boat. Try, Try, Try. I have lost
    weight sometimes, significant amounts only to gain it back. This time I have been tracking, exercising, eating better and look towards this new life style and not a diet. I wish you success I know as I guess we all do that it's work and persistence that will accomplish our purpose. - by YENRUOJ
