Goals Update: I hit my fat loss goals and am now focused on maintaining my body fat mass while increasing my lean muscle mass. Learning how to eat for maintenance and muscle growth is going to be pretty different from eating for fat loss, and I think it will be several months or more before I feel like I've encoded those habits and disciplines.

************
I think I am in the home stretch for the fat-burning portion of my journey. Another 10 pounds or so will get me to 23% body fat, and I think that will be a good place to stop losing fat and start focusing on building muscle.

My dad and I are going on a road-trip in August that will have a lot of activity, and I want to have both the strength, endurance, and stamina to have the most fun possible! If I am in maintenance by the beginning of June, I should be ready to go by August.

************
I have been on a weight loss journey since the beginning of 2015, and want lasting results this time around. I've focused on learning about nutrition and how the body fuels itself, as well as practicing mindfulness using cognitive behavioral therapy techniques that I've either read about or developed for myself.

My body composition goal is to get to 21-22% body fat, then focus on building muscle so I can successfully maintain my results. I've photo-journaled my weekly progress, and am finally starting to perceive the change.

SparkPeople has been an essential part of my success thus far - this community of people has is the most positive of any I know, and I hope my journey can inspire others the way I have been inspired!

Hi Annalise, Thank you for the flower goodie, I appreciate you stopping by and asking how I am. I am doing good and am glad to read about you reaching your goal weight, you must feel so good about that! I am still doing good and the pounds have slowed a bit coming off, but they are still coming off.
    Take care,

    Hi Annalise!
Thank you for stopping by my page. I am doing really well and I hope you are too. I had last week off work, and so this week is a little busier because of it, so it never seems like it is worth it sometimes! My Low-Carb/High Protein way of eating is working out amazing. I am down 8.5 lbs since trying this 6 weeks ago. I discovered a couple of weeks ago that I wasn't low-carb enough and so have altered that. The discovery of a local Low-Carb grocery store has been a huge blessing!
Have a great day and a great week!
    Cheers,
    Tanya

Thank you for the Beck book info! I'm reading it and completing some of the steps but just don't think I can commit the time right now to completely follow. I agree the cognitive approach really works!

Glad to see you back - everything is pretty good on my end - a little bit of a stressful week but what else is new?! LOL I hope you are doing great!! emoticon
