I am here to create radiant health, the best version of my body, my God-pod.

On December 6, 2015, I weighed 161 pounds, forty pounds overweight for my petite frame.

I have reached a healthy BMI range!
August 18,2016: Goodbye 140s, Hello 130s. 139 pounds.
November 19, 2016. 131 pounds. Met my 5% goal for the Fall Challenge. Nine pounds in eight weeks. 120s here I come!
December 5, 2016. 129 pounds.
January 2, 2017, 125 pounds.

Update March 23, 2010
Cholesterol is back in the normal, healthy range. Lost 20 pounds. For three months, I logged nutrition daily, ate within a healthy calorie range, and walked a minimum of 10,000 steps a day. Now eating more fruits and veggies than ever before. Thanks Spark People!

My Goals:
To reach and sustain the 120s in a happy, healthy way according to the divine plan for my life.

Gain mindfulness, excellent self-care and radiant self-expression.

Goal1: 10% from 160 to 144 by March 31, 2016.
April1: 144. Hooray!
Goal 2: 10% from 144 to 130 by August 1, 2016.

My Program:
Track everything. What gets measured gets transformed. Awareness precedes choices precedes results. Trackers help to build awareness.

The direct perception of truth in meditation acts as a purifying agent for mind and body. It harmonizes thought and activity with the way of right action.

I have lived in India, England and the US and I embrace the best of each of these cultures. While celebrating my heritage, I love the Universals that transcend culture: Love, Truth, and Beauty.

I am an author and yoga instructor, trained in the classical Ashtanga tradition as practiced and taught by Baba Hari Dass of Mount Madonna Center.

I am also blessed to have trained in India with Swami Mahadevananda, and Mani Chaitanya at the Sivananda ashram.

    A 2 and a quarter years late Kudos! on your 9/14/16 blog entry pointing out the research showing that it takes 66 days to form a habit, rather than the 21 we keep hearing all over the place. I recently saw the research you cited, and scribbled up a rant on it, and afterwards noticed you'd beaten me to noticing it it by years when I searched the Spark web site.

    Your valiant effort to combat this misinformation has been noted in my blog post :)
