My name is Nancy, I live in Southern Cali, and I have two kids and a great hubby. I've been on a weight loss mission since the beginning of 2008. And I must say I've been succesful, much to my suprise and a SUPRISE for a lot of other people who didn't think I'd ever shed the extra weight I carried for so long, more so after having my son. After he was born I didn't put much effort into taking care of myself. My highest weight was 227 lbs. WOW! I can't believe I allowed myself to lose control of my weight for so many years. Enough was enough. It all started on New year's eve going into 2008. We were celebrating and my brother-in-law who is not over weight, suggested we all get FIT for 2008. To me it seemed he was trying to insult me, because honestly I was the only one who was overweight in the crowd. I had a negative comment to say back to him. But he was actually right...I had to finally do something about my body, which I hated so much. I felt sooo old & tired all the time. I hated going out anywhere. I often made excuses for not showing up somewhere, only because I was ashamed of my body. I never had anything to wear. I always wore a jacket. Most of the time it was a black windbreaker that I would have on no matter what, even if it was 100 degrees out. I couldn't go up a flight of stairs without losing my breath. No matter if it was hot or cold I would always be HOT & sweaty....I couldn't stand any of that anymore. I missed wearing cute clothes & shoes. Feeling girly and feeling sexy was something I loved. My husband showed me love no matter what. I would feel embarrased for him when we would go out anywhere. I looked so huge standing beside him. I missed making love the way I know I could do it before I had all this Xtra weight. I know he missed it too. I needed to make a change, and start ASAP!

I finally decided to make a change once and for all in March 2008. I started off by walking every day in the evenings, and coming home and work out for about an hour. I stopped drinking soda, which was hard because I LOVE Soda. I started drinking ALOT of water everyday. I started noticing the changes after I lost about 15 lbs. Slowly but surely I've managed to lose a little over 50 lbs. And I feel GREEEAT!!!

My Goals:
I want to lose a total of 40 lbs before the year is over. This year for Halloween I want to finally wear that SEXY Police officer costume, I've always wanted. I want to reach a healthy BMI. I slowly have lost a total of 53 lbs it took almost a year, and I know I can keep it up. The feeling of all this weight loss is the best feeling ever! Shopping is GREAT now. I love taking pictures now. I want to maintain a healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life. I want to set a good example for my kids. There's no other way of living a happy life. Exercise is the best stress reliever ever!

My Program:
Well I've changed it up a little, and I'm hoping to see results faster than before. Just this week 6/1/09 I started getting up at 5:30 am and going for a morning jog. I never was much of a runner, but I've made it one of my priorities. I will run at least 5 days a week! I go to the Gym at least 4 days a week. I get on the elliptical for about 20 - 25 min, (it doesn't sound like much, but trust me I get busy) I change the intensity level, I don't stay at one pace, when I get on the treadmill I slowly but surely go up to 15% incline, but for the most of my 30 min I stay at 10%, the fastest I walk on the treadmill is 4.3, fast walking, its hard but it's GREAT! MUSIC is a MUST for me, it really keeps me going. I don't feel too comfortable running on the treadmill yet, if I had one at my house it would be a different story.;-P
When I don't have time to go to the gym I do my workout at home. I do the Jill Michaels workout DVD, it comes with two DVD's one is "Front Side", the other

    OMG, when I read that line about how you always wore a black windbreaker no matter how hot it was...well, that really brought back memories. I used to do the same exact thing. I haven't lost any real weight, but always weigh a lot more than I look. I am much more fit though, I've been weight training for 4 months now and adding in lots of cardio...kickboxing, dancing (all types), Firm workouts, turbo jam, Pilate's...just about everything I can get my hands on! Anyway, I just wanted to say you look great and keep up the good work. You will reach your goal with your positive attitude!
