My name is Barb and I am going to make 2010 the year I finally get healthy. I joined Spark People last year and was not able to reach my goals. I am determined that I will make it happen this year.

I have lost and gained the same 50 pounds so many times I can't remember. I knew I needed to make changes in my lifestyle when my doctor told me I was pre-diabetic and had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. That made me realize I needed to change my eating habits and start exercising.

Now the challenge is to keep going and make the changes. I have a 9 year old granddaughter and I want to see her grow up and I want to be able to be a part of her busy life. That is my new motivation.

I joined Weight Watchers to help on my journey and I have a nurse and dietician from my health insurance working with me. So I'm sure I will be successful.

My Program:
I am getting help from a dietician with my health insurance provider. I recently joined Weight Watchers and I'm following the program along with suggestions from my dietician.

I am working to increase my exercise to at least 5 days per week and my favorites are the Leslie Sansone DVD's.

I drink 8+ glasses of H2O a day.

My hobbies are reading, knitting/crocheting, playing piano and songwriting.

I just finished recording a Southern Gospel CD with original music.
