Hi, and welcome to my Sparkpage! I've been at SparkPeople since 2005 - and I've come to realize that the quest for good health and weightloss is a journey. There are no 'quick fixes' - and there will be ups and downs along the way. A lot of it is mental - having a goal, a plan, staying focused and never giving up.

I find I am most successful when I do a 'streak' - an ongoing series of days where I track the basics. So, I started a SparkTeam called 'Streak to Success' and I'd love for you to join me there if you think it would help you toward your goal, too! You will find a link to it in my Spark Teams list. Let's work together!

My Goals:
My overall goal is to lose 60 pounds and to become heatlhier and stronger and of course, to look better and have fun buying smaller clothes again!

Accomplishing THIS is WORTH the effort!!!

My Program:
Keeping track of my calories , exercise minutes, water and fruits/veggies everyday. For exercise I mostly do a combo of water aerobics, walking and bike riding. I use lots of charts, stickers, etc. to keep me motivated (see my picture gallery).

Personal Information:
I live in Georgia with my wonderful husband. We have two grown sons who are 28 and 32. I work 3 days a week as an administrative assistant. I like to cook, read, scrapbook family photos and spend time with my wonderful husband who I've been married to for 35 years. .

Other Information:
Here are some of my favorite weight loss quotes:

A person who really wants something will find a way; a person who doesn't will find an excuse!

Fitness is not Perfection, It's PROGRESSION!

Success is the result of small efforts - repeated day in and day out

Don't exchange what you want MOST for what you want at the moment!

Success is the progressive realization of a worthwhile dream.

What separates winners from losers is the courage to persist long enough to win - David Cottrell

WOW! You look great! I was on the Winter Meltdown team with you 8 months ago, and while browsing around today, I saw your ID but didn't recognize the picture next to it! You're doing so well, keep it up!

I wanted to drop you anote and let you know that you have a great encouragement to me. Thanks so much for welcoming me onto this awesome website,

A big obstacle for me is exercising--I wanted to let you know that I have exercised for 3 days straight--30 mins, 15 mins, 30 mins--big deal for me ---and just thinking about people like you and watching your progress is a huge inspiration for me!

    Thanks, my name is Lillian

    Hi Ruth,

Just wanted to say hello. I haven't been as active on the site as in the past, but I hope to do better. I really like your new picture. You're so photogenic! Talk to you soon.

Hi there, thanks for your comment. I fell bad though, because I am a young mother who only needs to lose about 30 pounds. I have the time and energy and sometimes I am forced into using that energy (with my daughter). I really hope you get your cruise and puppy. I have little gifts set out for myself at every 10 pounds. I even have some for my husband so he will help to motivate me. Sometimes I think they like us a little big. You might be disappointed by my weight this week as I have been out of town. I am doing my exercises, but the food thing is not doing that great.
    Good Luck to you,

It was great running into you at the gym! You look so good! We'll have to get together and do that again. The time goes so fast when you have someone to talk to. For me it makes exercising less painful! I hope you had a great Mother's Day!
