My name is Lesa, I have been a spark member for several years. I really enjoy the support from this website as well as all of the information.I have yet to learn everything that sparkpeople have to offer. I turned 41 this year, I spent most of my 30's overweight. I need to get into shape right now. I am a busy mom and work full time. I rarely take time for myself. I think that has kept me from loosing the weight. I feel so guity if I am not with my family when I am off work. I know this is something I need to work on to make me a healthier person. My life took a strange turn last week. For the past three or so weeks I had been having severe bloating, a feeling of fullness, abd pain, diarrhea and constipation. All of those problems I have had mildly over the past 20 years but suddenly they became much worse. I contacted my GYN and made an appointment w the nurse practicioner. When I saw her last monday, July 6, 2009, I had done my research and everything I read led to gallbladder or Celiac's disease. She ended up ordering a pelvic ultrasound and a GB ultrasound. That evening when I picked up my husband from church, He was upset. He said he had been really worrying about my health (he never worries, he is a retired physician and never over reacts to anything). He said I am going to your gyn when you have your abd (GB ultrasound). He said he had a dream about me the previous night. He said he dreamed I was in the hospital and was very sick. He also dreamed about a girl he treated when he started his practice that died of a disease called Gastric Lymphoma (has similar symptoms of Celiac and IBS). He then went w me and the ultrasound was normal. I was about to see the MD. THe MD said I should probably see a GI doctor. I then told him I would like to be tested for Celiac disease. He ordered the testing for me but I knew he was probably thinking why does she want this test). I contacted the lab on Thursday, July9, 2009. The labs were faxed and sure enough I had this disease. I immediately became Gluten Free. Remember Gluten is almost in everything. I saw a GI the next day. He then ordered a small bowel biopsy. I have it done next week. THe most ironic thing is this that Celiac disease carries a risk of Gastric Lymphoma if left untreated. It is amazing the ways GOD sends us messages.
