I reached my goal and then gained some back - first time in my life to lose the weight so it is also the first time for regaining any weight. It's time to get back on track! I don't look quite as good as I did the summer of 2007 - but I'll be back there this summer with perseverance.

I am glad to be on my way to my goal of backpacking again. I want to have some fun with my children - both the one still at home and the ones already out of the nest. I have raised/am raising four sons. My husband remarks that we are one of the very few families he knows of who had children in three decades!

My Goals:
I plan to be able to go backpacking with my husband again by next summer. I have been camping over the years - even with the excess weight and lack of fittness (see picture). But I want to actually be able to backpack again. I don't expect to look young again - but I would like to look fit :-)


My Program:
I have been using the Food Tracking resources and the Exercise Tracking every day I have access to a computer. When we were out of town for a week with no internet I wrote down everything and entered it when we got home. In food calories I went over two days, under three days, and in range three days. I think I averaged correctly for the whole week. And I felt pretty good since I had only been involved with SparkPeople for two/three weeks at that point.



Personal Information:
My husband and I are raising/have raised four boys. Only one is still at home - he is just turned 14. Our last teenager :-)



I chose to stay home after we started our family. As it turned out, I also did a lot of home schooing - but not all the years. I am just now beginning to pursue some interests which I have had on hold for while. It is great fun! And I also want to be able to do some of things I used to be able to do - like backpacking.

    The only trouble is that I have been really hungry the past few days. I am keeping the calories in the proper range - but I have gotten grumpy from being hungry. grrr... I don't like it when I have a bad attitude with my family! Hopefully this will subside if I just hang in there. Also, I may be okay with calories but my consistency with exercise is not good. And I need to be stronger!
