My page title is also my goal--surprise, surprise! I live in a medium-size northern Canadian city, and it's easy to talk myself out of doing a workout especially during COVID times. My wife and I have been pretty consistently swimming at the Aquatic Centre but that's not enough to get my weight back down to goal. I'm married, have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. My wife and I are retired from the public education system and now living comfortably and happily near our grandsons and services for seniors after a lifetime of living rurally. Life is good!

My Goals:
To keep my weight between 145 and 150 and to tighten up my muscle tone. I like being able to see my toes without having to look in the mirror : )

My Program:
Had a very successful bout with P90X early in 2011 but haven't been able to devote 30, 60, or 90 days consistently since. Never was a runner, but from January through April of 2012 I learned running the Jeff Galloway way with the intention of running a 10k event. This in response to a challenge from my sister to join her in the Vancouver Sun Run. Did the 10k no problem, then did 12k in a relay on Mothers' Day. Turns out I really like running so I guess that's my fitness program for the foreseeable future.

Personal Information:
My wife and I live on a beautiful property on the lake at 54.5 north latitude in central British Columbia, Canada. Nearest neighbour about half a mile away, nearest community about a 15 minutes' drive. Do I like solitude? You bet! I also like personal fitness activities, quiet times, outdoor work/play, politics, religion and community service. I enjoy live theatre. I avoid TV, the commercial entertainment industry and other mass media except CBC radio and the internet.

Other Information:
I'm a former Teacher/Librarian but you'd never know that by my current reading practices : ( It just took me almost six months to read "Shanataram". Excellent book, gripping story. It wasn't a difficult read, just had too much graphic violence for quick consumption. I think my summer read will be the full Harry Potter series (for the fourth time : )

It has been a while since we chatted. I though of you as we drove down through BC a couple weeks ago. emoticon

We had spent two months in Canada with our RV. Traveled Calgary to Yellowknife , Fort Simpson, then Laird Trail and Alaska Highway to Dawson City. Took the Dempster Hwy to Inuvik and Tuk. Then returned down the Cassier /Stewart Hwy #37 and around to Prince George and south through Fraser River Cyn to the border at Sumas, USA

85 days and 10,340 miles. Way tooo much sitting. Now trying to get back into some kind of shape.

("54 degrees in Central BC" sounds like Yellowhead Highway, #16 country.)

    Happy Easter one day early!

Wishing you only the greatest of everything. Hope this spring is the time to reach those goals, get closer or to start again. emoticon

Watch out because I am back and ready to run, walk, cycle and do whatever it takes to meet my goals. What about you?

Jeez, Paul. Sorry you're still my weight now that my weight's *blush* what it is! What to do? Well, I've taken pics of my renewed belly bulge and am threatening Self that I'll use that on my SparkPeople profile if I don't start the downward slide on the tracker soon. That's the stick.
We are going to England in a couple of weeks and if I can lose a few before we go, I'll be gentle re: SparkPeople living till we get home. That's the carrot. Truth be told, I'll probably just muddle along till we're home and then hit SparkPeople living again with a vengeance. You?

    Ken, thanks for the goodie!

I've been in diet "purgatory" for a couple of months and weight has increased to 168 (I changed a while back to body fat, not to hide but to incent).

So, I had to check your weight to see if you were on track. It seems like we in sync with our weight. Question is how to do we get back to below 160?
