On May 2, 2016 I started over once again in my journey to get to a healthy weight. This time I decided to do something different that I have never done before and that is I joined Weight Watchers. In the past I have always walked this journey alone expect for being online here at Sparkpeople and decided I needed more face to face accountability. So far the new journey has been going great but I have to get past the 4 month mark because in the past I have been able to keep up with the journey for about 3 to 4 months and then I gradually go back to back habits and regain my weight. I had already lost 30 lbs before joining Weight Watchers but it took me over 2 years to do that. Since joining WW I have lost 20 lbs but I am trying to change my outlook by not concentrating so much on the number on the scale. I want to live a balanced life in all areas not just concentrate on weight. No matter what happens I will never give up in this quest. The character of a person is not revealed when everything is going good in their lives but is revealed in how they handle adversity and struggle.

It has been almost a year since I was last on this site and of course during that time I have reached the highest weight I have every weighed. I can't believe I have let it get this bad.

Well I am here today 4/11/13 to start over yet again on my journey to getting to a healthy weight and staying there. I have spent way too much of my adult life being obese and I do not want to live the rest of my life like this. I need to really work on this now and keep working on it so today is just another step in the journey.

I fell off the weight loss wagon some time ago and have gained back all the weight I had lost plus 50 lbs more. I don't know why I cannot establish a healthy eating lifestyle and stick with it. I currently weight far more than I have ever weighed and I am depressed. So now I am going to attempt to start over yet again and try to take it one day at a time. I have to stop my emotional escape of eating. There is always a lot of emotional upheaval in my family and I handle that by eating. I know it's harmful to me I just don't know how to stop it.

Today Sept 18, 2012, step one: Sign back onto Sparkpeople.
Step two: Start drinking water again.

Intro March 2011.
We are 2 months into 2011 and I am happy to realize that I am not the same person who joined Sparkpeople in October of 2008. While I have not yet achieved a healthy weight I have changed a lot during this time. I am slowing losing weight and changing my life. There have been ups and downs but I have not given up and through each experience I have learned and grown. God is great at putting up in circumstances that force us to grow and these last two years have definitely been a growing experience for me. So bring on 2011!

Intro from October 11, 2010
I am starting over. I am an emotional eater so when I am stressed I eat. I also eat if I am happy, sad, lonely, and bored. The last four months have been extremely stressful so I gained back the 40 lbs that I lost last year. I know that with God's help I can get to and then maintain a healthy weight.

I was a slightly overweight child and teenager. I was mostly 20 lbs overweight during my childhood and teenage years. Then in my 20s I slowly started gaining weight and moved into the obese category. Then at 28 I gained 50 lbs in only 2 months and have been over 200 lbs and morbidly obese since then. I use to think that because I did not have any of the health problems associated with being obese that I was ok but over the last five years I have developed problems with my knees and feet.

Due to a surprise gift given to me for my birthday I was able to buy the Bodybugg and I am going to use this to help me in this journey.

With God all things are possible for his glory. I hope to glorify God with my weight loss journey.

30 days goals staring 10/11/10
1. Pray for God's help and motivation.
2. Go to the gym 3x per week.
3. Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
4. Lose 12 lbs.

Steps used to reach goals:
1. Wear the Bodybugg every day.
2. Keep a food log every day.
3. Keep gym bag in the car.
4. Keep water bottle with me at all times.

The longest journey begins with a single step. Yesterday I took step 1.

Trust God in all ares of my life including weight.
1. To lose 50 lbs
2. To be in Onederland by my birthday in January
3. Do more active things with my 2 year old grandson.

Reach a normal BMI -158 lbs

My Program:
1. Walk for 30 to 60 minutes 6 days a week

2. Plan all means in advance.

3. Bed by 10 pm.

    Thank you for your comments on my blog. Yes I very much feel like Bruce Almighty. I wish I could *make* him change, but he has to want to change.

    Prayer is a powerful resource for sure and I'll use it. I was frustrated last night and today and I was feeling like there is no hope for this situation.

    But there is!! Nothing is every hopeless. And eventually he'll see the light.....whether it's on this side of heaven or not!

    Congrats on earning your 30,000 points on SP sis!! As for motivation there is not a really good cure for that .... except put on your shoes and take a little walk around your building at lunch on break whatever and where ever you can. Listen to some inspirational songs that you like. Take little steps and celebrate the little victories: Make one better choice today then u did yesterday, Its not all or nothing--its moderation & persistence. I am proud of you!! I am proud to be your sister and you deserve to be happy and healthy!!
