Hello

1. What should we call you? Jenn

2. Where do you live? Central Utah

3. How old are you and yes, please include the birthday? 51 July 30

4. What are your hobbies? I love to read and learn new things, I also enjoy quilting and scrapbooking, and trying new recipes as often as I can.

5. Short bio (ie married, kids, pets?): I am a widow, I have five children, only two are still at home. I also have three dogs and one cat to keep us entertained.

6. Job/Career? I am a Social Worker for a long term care facility. I have been in the social work field for seventeen years; mostly I have worked with those experiencing domestic violence and or homelessness but a few years ago I decided to try a different aspect and have enjoyed learning about issues that our elders face.

7. Have you set any short/long term goals? Long term: During the last two years I made the decision to qualify for weight loss surgery. Eighteen months ago I had my surgery and have lost half my body weight. My life long goal will be to maintain this. Short term I am still struggling with finding an exercise regimen that fits my interest, able and schedule.

8. What motivates you and keeps you motivated? My family and my commitment to myself. I have been given a wonderful opportunity to change the path I was on. I owe it to myself and I deserve it.

9. What do you do, exercise wise, in a typical week? Right now? I'm pretty into yoga and some physical therapy exercises my chiropractor has set up for me. Would like to learn weight lifting.

10. When were you diagnosed with RA? around 2008 so around twelve years now.

11. Which meds are you on? I use Cimzia

12. Which part of your body is typically the most painful? right now its my shoulders and back

13. What works for you best in keeping the pain down? Heat makes it feel the best but also creates further swelling and ultimately more damage Ice, and range of motion, stretching depending on what is hurting.

14. List 2 things we would never know to ask about you. Well Hmm... I don't know I guess I've been told that my life story would make a good Lifetime movie. Also I would love to spend like a whole season secluded in a mountain cabin.

Take care of your emotional well-being, your thoughts can trigger you, this is important to be able to teach your brain to follow you not your impulses. I can learn to overcome anxiety. Every time you walk down the same path you make your brain react quicker and more often for good and bad actions alike.
