January 2017

A new commitment, a fresh start. A promise to myself that I am worth it, and that I can do this!

A year on Spark People has seen some significant changes in my life. I have a much better attitude to exercise and fitness, and a much greater awareness of healthy choices on the food front, but I can't in all honesty say that I have lost the weight I wanted to. Now is the time to heighten my efforts, get truly focused and start putting into practice all that I have learnt. A new year, a renewed effort, and a new me!

January 2013
Am finally starting to make progress and see results. I realise again how important a healthy life is to me, and just how much I want to make substantial changes to be the best I can be. My main goal at this stage is to get to Onederland and it is well within reach over the next few months. I would never have got this far without the wonderful support of my Spark Friends, and I am more determined than ever to achieve my goals!

    Hi Jenna,
Thanks for sharing the books your club is reading - After the Crash is the only one I've heard of! I guess that's what happens when you're almost a world away!! Will have to google the others. I very much like your quote about not fearing failure, but fear being in the same place next year (to paraphrase). I will have to take that to heart.
    Just keep walking!

    Hi Jenna,
The only way I'm doing better than you is that I am not interested in hot cross buns:) I have other vices.
I'm still here, and making better choices ... not that 2 lbs lost in 4 weeks is anything to write home about but it is an improvement in behaviour - and that's what has to happen, right? So I am edging toward the right track. Inching, maybe. Eating less wheat, which always makes me feel better.
What are you reading these days? I am reading "Do not say we have nothing" by Canadian author Madeleine Thien. Very good writing.
    As always, hang in there!

    Hello Jenna,
    How are you doing?
I am having an awfully hard time even thinking about recording my food ... Interesting that I am not able to hold myself accountable ... might be a blog there to wonder why that might be! I won't have success if I can't record what I eat, let out map out a plan! Do you plan the day's food agenda?

    Hello Jenna,
    Greetings from an old Sparkfriend:)
I hope all is well with you. I am back because I need to do something with my health, and I am not able to do it on my own. I hope we can try one more time to get this fight for our health back on track.
I would really enjoy re-kindling our many interesting conversations - I have missed them!
